Hello and welcome to Meditation Time.
My name is James Whitaker.
Today we are going to be meditating on the beauty and majesty of nature and all of God's creation.
The Bible has many verses describing how amazing nature is.
In John 1-3 it says,
All things were made and came into existence through Him.
And without Him,
Not even one thing was made that has come into being.
One thing we absolutely need to remember is that God created it all.
Without Him,
There would be nothing.
In Psalms 19-1 it says,
The heavens are telling of the glory of God,
And the expanse of heaven is declaring the work of His hands.
And in Psalms 96,
11-12,
Let the heavens be glad,
Let the earth rejoice,
Let the sea roar,
And all the things it contains.
Let the field be exalted in all that is in it,
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy.
Nature is declaring and rejoicing that God created it.
All we have to do is look around us to see it.
In Job 12,
7-10 it says,
Now ask the animals,
And let them teach you,
That God's does not deal with His creatures according to their nature.
And ask the birds of the air,
And let them tell you.
For speak to the earth with its many forms of life,
And it will teach you.
And let the fish of the sea declare this truth to you.
Who among all these does not recognize?
And all these things that good and evil are randomly scattered throughout nature and human life.
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
In whose hand is the life of every living thing,
And the breath of all mankind.
He created everything.
And in Job 37,
14-16 it says,
Listen to this job,
Stand still and consider the wonders of God.
Do you know how God establishes and commands them,
And makes the lightning of His storm cloud shine?
Do you know about the layers of thick clouds,
And how they are balanced and poised in the heavens?
The wonderful works of Him who was perfect in knowledge.
Not only did God create everything in nature,
He balanced it and set it to all work together.
Let's pray.
Dear God,
Thank you so much for creating this earth.
Thank you for creating us.
Thank you for creating every creature,
Large and small.
Everything that walks,
Swims,
And flies.
Thank you for setting nature in motion,
And balancing it ever so perfectly.
May we show our gratitude to you by continually showing our appreciation for the world you created for us,
And to look constantly for ways to help maintain and restore it.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
We're going to do some breathing now to transition into a time of meditation.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
Gently close your eyes.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
For the next few minutes,
Meditate on God's scripture.
Focus on the beauty and majesty of all our awesome God has created.
Think of ways we can maintain and restore this amazing gift.
Look for him and you will find him.
Thank you for joining me today.
I challenge you today to go outside,
Even if it's just to step out your door.
Take a deep breath,
Close your eyes,
And listen.
Take a moment to appreciate it all.
Thank you and God bless.
