Welcome to.

My backyard in a way here in the South Downs and this session is part of a series called The Nature of Breathing.
Where we work with our breath to Create an invitation for rest.
And also to connect us to the nature of breathing and also the nature of being and also if you have the opportunity to nature itself.
So you can do this practice from wherever you are,
Whether you are inside,
Outside,
In a city,
Deep in nature,
On a beach,
Wherever you might be.
You can do this either seated or lying down.
It's completely up to you.
So just find yourself a nice comfortable practice position now.
And let's begin.
So gently closing the eyes here.
Begin to shift your awareness inwards to the body.
Allow yourself to take in.
The sounds that are around you.
And also the sounds of nature.
The sound of my voice.
And as you begin to turn that awareness and attention inwards to the body.
Can you start to notice what you can feel?
Can you notice any sensations in the body?
Can you notice what is present for you in the mind?
Have you got a busy mind today,
A quiet mind?
And just know that there is no right or wrong way to experience this practice.
This is Earth.
Loving Invitation to rest in being.
And bring your attention also into the center of the chest,
Into the heart space.
How does it feel in that space today?
Is there restriction?
Attention.
A sense of openness.
And is there anything that you can do with your posture?
To create an opening in that space.
There is nothing you need to do,
There is nowhere.
You need to be.
Bringing your awareness now to the sole of your right foot.
Moving to your left knee.
Your right hip.
Your left hip.
Your left elbow.
Your right hand.
Your right middle finger.
Your left shoulder.
The crown of your head.
And now the tip of your nose.
Beginning to notice here.
The natural.
Flowing rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.
Notice how the breath is moving.
Notice where the breath is moving to in the body.
On your next breath,
Take a deep,
Slow,
Steady inhale through the nose.
And sigh out through the mouth.
Good,
Inhale.
And exhale.
One more like that,
Drawing the breath in and down.
And sighing out releasing,
Letting it go.
Letting everything go.
Anything you might be carrying.
Anything you might be holding.
Just give yourself permission for the next few minutes to pop it down.
And feel your shoulders drop.
And your jaw softened as you put that weight down.
Come back to the tip of the nose and gently begin to slow the breath down.
And with each slower breath extending your inhale and your exhale.
Inviting in.
This sense of relaxation.
Inviting in a full body softening.
Each breath acting as a signal of safety.
To mind,
Body and soul.
Continue to slow the breath down notice that subtle softening and opening.
Through the body here as you continue.
To let go with each passing breath.
And as we create that opening.
Can you begin to acknowledge and appreciate your breath,
Not just as an exchange?
Of air.
An exchange of gases.
But as an ever-present dialogue.
An exchange of information between the world outside of you and the world inside of you.
And you have an opportunity with each breath to inform that conversation and dialogue.
What is the energy that you want to breathe in?
And what is the energy?
That you want to breathe out.
We're going to take three clearing breaths together.
Drawing a gentle inhale in through the nose.
And a soft letting go,
Sigh out release.
Just dropping that exhale again,
Drawing that breath in.
And softening,
Releasing,
Letting go.
One more like that.
And then allow the breath to come back to just gently moving in and out of the nose,
Keeping it slow and steady and rhythmic.
As we open up to this softness and relaxation.
We create space within ourselves for inspiration.
Creativity,
For insight,
For clarity.
And so just asking yourself this question here.
Drawing your awareness to the space between your eyebrows.
If miracles were possible.
What is it that I would like to bring into my life?
Seeing that image clearly in your mind.
So clear.
It's like you're already there.
And with that image clear in your mind.
Drawing a slow,
Intentional breath in.
Bringing that energy.
Down into the body.
Bringing that sense of aliveness,
Of clarity,
Of confidence into your being.
And then softly just letting that breath go again.
As you inhale.
The world exhales as you exhale the world in-house.
And as we begin now to bring some small gentle movements back into the body.
In your own time,
At your own pace,
In your own way.
As you go into the rest of your day just thinking and reflecting on this.
What is most loving for me.
Right now.
And them whenever you're ready.
Gently blinking open the eyes coming back into the space.
And we will close our practice there.
Go get yourself out into nature.
Keep coming back to your breath.
I love you.
I'll see you again soon.
