Hello beautiful souls,
This is JB and welcome to a beautiful night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series Sleep Stories with June B.
So join me as I am sitting on the edge of a cliff listening to the great power that is all around and taking the time to relax.
So let's get into your favourite sleeping position,
Make sure you're comfortable,
Close your eyes and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Last time,
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
So today I'm taking a trip to the cliff and taking in the raw power I always feel when I get there,
So join me.
Okay,
I'm here just sitting in a strange place I know,
But it has always been a place where I can come to enjoy the beating of the water against the rocks.
I come here when I want to feel the unnerving power that nature has at its fingertips.
A power to be very humble around and something to respect at all times.
When you sit here for a minute and just listen,
There is something just beautiful and humbling about listening to nature do its thing.
It is palpable almost.
That tangible feeling of raw energy floating around you when you stay still.
Close your eyes and just listen to the majestic sound of the sea.
It reminds me of a story I've heard before.
It's kind of like an eternal tale of the battle between the water and the rock.
Who wins?
Well,
The water every time of course.
So let me set up the scene for you.
Imagine this scenario.
You can just see a huge ship sailing out to sea.
The sun is shining and everyone is having such a great time.
The ship is nearly full of people just enjoying their time away.
Even the crew are having a great time entertaining the guests.
The trip is really peaceful and all is well for most of the days.
The sun is shining but not too bright.
The water is calm.
You would believe that you were on land.
Not a ripple.
Everything is just perfectly smooth.
There's a beautiful breeze blowing.
And everyone aboard this ship is so happy just enjoying their time.
The food is amazing.
The drinks are flowing and the entertainment just tops it all.
Then all of a sudden it seems like one night the weather just turns.
It does a 360.
One minute plain sailing then the next it starts to pour with rain.
Almost as if buckets of water are being chucked out of the sky.
The waves are huge and the water is really rough.
The waves are about two times higher than the ship threatening to engulf this huge ship whole with one fail sweep.
Now this is a big ship but the waves are making it seem like a little plastic plane boat.
Like the ones you have in the bathtub for kids.
The ones when you press they squawk.
Well the water has this ship tossing left and right up and down and there is general chaos on the deck.
Everything is getting loose,
Flying past you at warp speed or has already gone overboard.
Then the men on the deck see the worst sight they could dare to in this weather,
The cliffs.
Standing there stoic and unmoving,
Unapologetic and uninviting.
The ship is going closer and closer to this point of no return.
The crew knowing that once they get too close it's all over.
The captain sounds the horn for everyone to abandon ship but he stays.
Letting down the life rafts so people can try to save themselves before the inevitable collision.
You know what they say about a captain,
He's the last off and many times goes down with the ship.
Well after he waits for every last man,
Woman and child to get off,
Just before imminent disaster,
He nimbly jumps into a lifeboat and narrowly avoids being taken hostage by this eternal tug of war between the sea and the rocks.
You!
That is what I feel every time I come here.
It is not the kind of place to just chill,
It's a place to really think on things while you're here.
And you can feel the power that is all around you.
I do love to come here.
I seem to feel the energy and take it with me when I leave.
I absolutely love it.
It's raw and it's beautiful.
And you can almost feel the power.
So I've been here for a while now and it's time to go home and get some dinner.
Also I've been out all day and I'm getting really sleepy now and I'm sure you are too.
So as you slowly drift away,
Have yourself a great sleep and I'll see you next time for another in the series,
Sleep Stories with June B.
Bye now.
