Hello beautiful souls,
This is June Bee and welcome to an amazing night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series,
Bedtime Tales with June Bee.
Join me as I take a trip to sunny Spain and all the things we will discover on our journey to sleep.
So let's get into your favourite sleeping position,
Making sure you are comfortable.
Close your eyes,
Relax your muscles and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Last time,
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Settle in now,
Get comfortable,
Let go of everything that has happened today and let's relax together.
If your mind wanders,
It's okay,
Bring it back to the sound of my voice.
Let's go on this beautiful and amazing journey together.
Travel has always been so special for me.
I have been blessed with the ability,
Many times on a shoestring,
To go and poke my head in at some of the amazing places in this wonderful world we live in.
In this Bedtime Tales,
A trip to,
We can explore some of the places I have visited and what I have discovered to be my favourite parts of each one of them.
Today we are taking a trip to sunny Spain.
In the UK,
We affectionately sing,
We're off to sunny Spain,
Y viva España!
Written and sung by an artist called Sylvia.
This sweet little ditty brings back fond memories of my multiple visits to Spain.
It also became an anthem of sorts for British people every time they were taking a trip to Spain.
It ends with,
España por favor!
Yes,
Spain please!
It is such fun.
I have been lucky enough to visit Spain a few times and each time has been different.
Some of my highlights of a few of my trips to Santiago,
Spain are,
Firstly,
Santiago de Compostela.
With its rich history,
Unique culture,
Stunning architecture,
The pilgrim's history,
And the Camino de Santiago,
And breathtakingly beautiful countryside.
Not to mention its delicious cuisine.
There really is something special about this corner of Spain that makes it well worth visiting.
On this visit of the city of Santiago,
You can discover the most important monuments and places in the city.
The main squares surrounding the Santiago Cathedral will entice you with their history,
And by observing the scene,
Can tell you some fascinating stories that will help you to understand the significance of what you are seeing.
Understand the meaning of the shells,
Why the city is called Compostela,
And much,
Much more.
Then you can escape the most touristy parts of the city to enter into the downtown area and see it from the eyes of the locals.
If you're lucky,
You will have so much fun and discover the local market,
Hidden squares,
And narrow streets,
While your adventure into this beautiful city allows you to uncover the best places for some tapas,
Lunch,
Dinner,
And,
Of course,
Nightlife.
Finishing off the tour where it started,
And let your guide help you to figure out what else would you like to do in Santiago or any other part of Galicia.
Then,
On to the Cathedral of Santiago.
Usually,
People start at the Cathedral Museum to visit the ancient ruins,
The library,
The chapter house,
And the balconies.
Next,
Going inside the Cathedral of Santiago to visit all its chapels and main altar,
And,
Of course,
The organs.
Then,
You continue walking and,
Of course,
You visit the tomb of Santiago Apostle.
Believe me,
A sight not to be missed.
And you can try it with a local guide,
And if you are into art history,
This will be a beautiful treat.
Believe me,
You will fall in love with this place,
Too.
Traveling broadens the mind,
Opens the heart,
And allows you to see how different people do exactly the same thing as me or you.
What a joy.
I'm not sure about you,
But I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it,
So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.
Thanks for joining me tonight,
And as you slowly drift away,
Have yourself a great night's sleep.
And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of bedtime tales with June B.
Good night.
