So when you're ready,
We'll begin our meditation by getting comfortable,
Creating a long spine.
Maybe you're seated or lying down.
Wherever you're at,
Make those last few adjustments to just help your body feel even more supported.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes and bring your awareness to your breath.
The word equinox means equal night and it is the time of balancing the sun and moon energy,
The light and the dark.
So to honor this energy of the day,
We're going to begin with a balancing breath.
So we'll inhale for four and exhale for four.
We'll exhale all of the air out of our lungs together.
And then inhaling for a count of four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Pause for a moment and exhale for four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Pause and inhale for four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Pause and exhale for four,
Three,
Two,
One.
And continue on with this breath.
Doing a few more rounds of this balanced breath.
Equal inhales,
Equal exhales.
And doing a few more rounds of this breath.
Maybe tuning into your own energy.
Noticing things feeling a little bit more balanced,
A little more harmonious.
Just like the light and the dark on the equinox.
Allowing yourself to be perfectly held,
In balance.
With every breath you feel yourself becoming steadier,
More centered,
More balanced within.
Light and dark,
Rest and growth,
Winter to spring.
And do one more full round of this breath,
Inhaling for four and exhaling for four.
And then after that final round,
Just returning to your natural breath pattern.
And now in your mind's eye,
Imagine yourself sitting in a cozy winter room.
There's a soft blanket wrapped around your shoulders,
A quiet fire glowing in the heart,
Some candles that are flickering around you.
Outside,
The world is still.
Snow rests on the earth.
The air is quiet and everything feels paused.
Winter has been the season of reflection,
Of deep rest and turning inward.
And take a big,
Deep breath here,
Inhaling and exhaling,
Honoring what winter has given you.
The quiet,
The lessons,
The healing,
The slowing down.
And on your next breath,
As you exhale,
Offering gratitude for this season.
Even if it was a challenging season or if it stretched you or asked a lot of you,
Winter has shaped you.
It's given you moments to learn.
And in this winter room,
You stand up and there's a doorway at the edge of the room.
The door is closed,
But you can see golden sunlight peeks in around the edges of the door.
On the other side,
Spring is waiting.
So you take one last moment here in winter.
You place your hand on the doorknob and you pause for a moment.
This is the threshold.
The threshold between who you are right now and who you are becoming.
And take a big,
Deep breath in,
Gathering in the wisdom of winter.
And as you exhale,
You open the door and step through the threshold.
And as you do,
You step outside and you're greeted by light,
Warm,
Golden,
Vibrant light.
The air feels fresh against your skin.
It's still a little bit cool,
But the sun is so warm on your body.
The earth is awakening.
It's filled with possibilities.
And you see small green sprouts pushing through the soil,
Hopeful new beginnings.
Blossoms beginning to unfurl and petals and leaves stretching and expanding towards the sun.
You can hear the bird songs returning to the trees.
You can feel that fresh energy of spring.
Where the days grow a little longer,
The light lingers.
And as you stand in this springtime light and energy,
Reflecting on who you are becoming,
How this rebirth,
This new beginning of spring will shape you and allow you to become a new version of yourself.
After completing a full cycle,
Ending in winter and starting a new cycle here in spring.
Reflecting on what within you is ready to grow.
What seeds are you ready to plant?
Who are you becoming now?
And reminding yourself that spring doesn't rush.
It unfolds at just the right time.
Just as you unfold,
Become alive and bloom at just the right time.
Feel yourself standing fully in this new season.
The colors brighter,
The air lighter,
Your spirit gently stirring awake.
Taking a big,
Deep breath in,
Filling yourself with all of that energy and vitality,
The freshness of spring.
Really inhaling that sense of growth and exhaling,
Releasing any of the old or stagnant energy from winter.
And feel the balance within you.
Allowing the energies of sun and moon,
Of light and shadow to dance together within you.
Just like your inhale and exhale,
Your effort and rest,
The acts of doing and being.
These two opposing things,
In perfect balance,
Helping to create harmony within you.
And in your mind's eye,
Imagining that you walk over to some soil,
Take a seed.
The seed representing the person you are becoming.
Planting it in the ground,
Watering it,
And knowing that it will grow in its own time.
You just have to trust the process and the natural unfolding.
Telling yourself three times,
I trust the natural unfolding of my growth.
I honor and celebrate who I am becoming.
Taking a moment here to feel yourself at the threshold of a new season,
A new beginning,
And a new version of you.
Balanced,
Rooted,
And open.
And closing our meditation practice by telling yourself three times,
I love who I am becoming.
And taking a big deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Begin to reawaken.
Bringing yourself back to your body and back to this moment.
Opening the eyes and closing your meditation practice.
Thank you so much for joining me today,
And have a beautiful equinox.
