The River Is Flowing Chant
by Kelsey Beine
This chant was written by Sun Bear of the Chippewa Tribe. It honors the lifegiving nature of water and our interconnectedness with the natural elements. The chant is repeated three times, followed by a short pause, and then repeated another nine times. There is no introduction or closing, so you are welcome to play this recording during a guided practice – of your own or that you are facilitating for others. Lyrics: The river is flowing, flowing and growing. The river is flowing back to the sea. Mother Earth, carry me. Your child I will always be. Mother Earth, carry me back to the sea.
