Make yourself comfortable and let your legs go floppy.
Lay your arms by your sides with your palms facing the sky and close your eyes.
Breathe in through your nose and feel your belly rise.
Breathe out and soften.
Breathe in and breathe out.
You are safe.
You are comfortable.
And with every breath you are relaxed.
I am going to name all of the different parts of your body and I want you to think about each one when I say it.
And when your mind moves to each part,
Imagine a colour glowing there.
Whatever colour you want at each part that I name.
On one side of your body,
Your big toe,
Your other toes,
Your foot,
Your ankle,
Your lower leg,
Your knee,
Your upper leg,
Your hip and the side of your body,
Your hand,
Your thumb and all of the fingers on your hand,
Your wrist,
Your arm,
Your elbow and your shoulder up to your ear.
Now we go to the other side.
Your big toe,
Your other toes,
Your foot,
Your ankle and your lower leg,
Your knee and your upper leg,
Your hip and the side of your body,
Your hand,
Thumb and all of the other fingers on your hand.
Your wrist,
Your arm,
Your elbow,
Shoulder and ear.
All glowing with your colour.
Both of your feet,
Both of your legs,
Your tummy and your belly button,
Your heart,
Shoulders and both of your arms.
Your neck,
Your chin,
Mouth,
Nose,
Cheeks and ears,
Your eyes and your whole face to the top of your head.
This colour flows through your whole body and as you breathe in it gets brighter and as you breathe out it softens.
Now let's go back,
Back to the forgotten garden where you find yourself underneath the great willow tree on the soft grass except now it feels different.
You can feel magic and life and you remember all of the little growing things that you helped find space to grow.
Looking around you can feel that things have changed already.
The willow tree has sprouted thousands and thousands of little leaves and you are enclosed by a veil of green leaves all around you right down to the ground.
The sun pokes through the gaps in the leaves like twinkling eyes.
You move towards the hanging branches and part them like two great curtains and step out into the garden.
How different it looks.
The sun shines down in glittering gold.
The sky is a shimmering blue with fluffy white clouds floating by.
This whole place has magic in it.
The grass has turned a brilliant bright green carpet with little flowers dotted all over it.
You take off your boots and your socks and you stand bare feet on the grass.
It is bouncy and fresh underneath your wiggling toes.
All around you you can see right before your very eyes things are uncurling.
Buds of leaves and petals of flowers.
Sunshine yellow and royal purple.
Colors of blues and oranges.
Pinks and browns.
And oh so many shades of green.
Things are coming to life.
The little green shoots have pushed and pushed up through the earth and have become beautiful things.
The flowers have started to creep back up the walls again.
What colors can you see?
The trees are full of blossoms.
Some wide open with white and pink flowers.
Some still tightly closed just waiting to burst and some half way in between.
Butterflies are fluttering and fat little bees are buzzing.
A small bunny rabbit slowly creeps out from underneath a nearby bush and hops a little nearer.
Wiggles its nose at you and then hops on by.
A bushy tailed animal runs along the top of the wall.
Takes a short cut along a branch on a fruit tree and back onto the wall.
As you wander around more things are uncurling before your eyes.
The sun is beginning to set now.
Deep golden rays shine softly on the garden.
But before you go you must do one thing.
You reach into your pocket and pull out a packet of seeds.
And you take your trowel and dig into the earth turning it over making a small hole.
And you pop in your seeds one by one with great care pressing them down into the earth with love and then covering it over and pressing it down with your hands.
Feeling the magic to make things grow.
It is time to go now but you will come back to see your new things growing.
And so you pull on your socks and your boots and walk slowly down the path.
You sweep the curtain of ivy aside and squeeze back through the old gate.
Pulling it closed behind you and placing the key back on the lock.
Holding it with two hands and then put the key back on its rusty old hook.
Turning the gate back over with the ivy once more and turning around back into the garden that you walked through.
You can see that magic is here now too and there is new life in this garden.
The flower beds are full of greens,
Purples,
Blues and yellow flowers.
There are vegetables growing in the vegetable patches.
And small fruits have started growing on the fruit trees.
They will soon be ready to eat.
Big bright sunflowers have started growing along the wall down the side of the path.
Some are still short.
Some are as tall as you.
And some are taller than the wall.
You walk through the brick archway now covered in brilliant new tiny green leaves and flowers.
And you see that water flows from the fountain.
Sparkling in the setting sun.
The stone creatures dancing joyfully in the water that falls around them.
The sky has changed to colours of deep orange and pink.
The clouds are almost purple as the sun sinks down,
Down below them.
And you walk the winding walk back to the house.
And as you push open the great door you find yourself in your very own bedroom.
Taking off your boots,
Your coat and your scarf.
And climbing into your warm,
Soft,
Cosy bed.
Wiggling down,
Snuggling into your sheets.
As you get comfortable,
Your body feels soft and heavy.
You close your eyes and think of those seeds that you planted.
Settling and wriggling down into the earth,
Ready to grow.
And your body feels softer and heavier.
And you drift softly and deeply into a peaceful,
Deep sleep.
