I think that people can change and grow while doing it. The past matters to a degree..what matters now is simply put, Now. Love tends to open the world up, when you allow it. If you have already shut some doors, open the windows instead..and see what happens.

What I want for you.

I want you to know your worth without the insecurities of the past weighing you down.

I want you to wake up and know that you matter to people who love you,

Not because of what you do for them,

But because of who you are to them.

I want you to have the freedom that you work so hard for.

I want you to be able to decide how to choose your time,

Not because you're chained to a debt that keeps you struggling to survive,

But because you have worthy pursuits that you enjoy.

I want you to be able to feel and experience love and all its context,

Colors and unexpected surprises.

And not because it's expected or contorted or forced out of obligation,

But because you feel it and you know in your soul that there is no other place that you would rather be,

No other path that you would rather follow.

I know that fear can sometimes prevent you from trying.

I know that fear can stifle any of us.

It can stifle all of us.

I know that sometimes the past feels like a tether to something you wish you could erase.

But I also know that it is part of what led you to who and where you are today.

And that is something to consider,

Something to really think about and appreciate,

Despite how it might seem at times.

No matter where you've been or how many times you have strayed from your intended destination,

It doesn't matter.

What matters is that you adapted,

You pivoted,

And you stayed in the game.

This game,

This production,

This journal of your life,

You can rewrite it and edit it at any stage of the game.

You worked with what you had,

And this is where you are now.

Right here,

Right now,

And this moment.

It doesn't matter how you got here or how you get there.

What matters is that you decide where you want to go.

And that's the most important thing,

Your decision,

You deciding where you want to go.

I think we are tend to be creatures of comfort and order,

And a bit shy of chaotic and disorderly conduct at whims at times.

But the fact that we get to rein it in if we need to is so magical.

Sometimes it's easier to continue on with the discomfort that we are familiar with,

Because we don't know what it's like to live safely on the other side.

But that doesn't mean that we can't.

It only means that we need to find another way.

A way that we're not familiar with.

And we can find that way.

We can explore and learn and forge new pathways.

I know this because we have.

You have.

I have.

This isn't the first time you or I fell down and it might not be the last.

But the good news is,

We got back up before.

And we're going to keep getting back up as long as we can.

This I know,

Because this isn't an option.

It's not an option to choose more anymore.

So what I want for you,

I want to clean your slate.

I want you to clean your slate,

Maybe just a little.

Shed some of those past screw ups that may have eroded your self esteem,

Just a little.

Our mistakes don't define us,

They make us human.

They can actually strengthen our resolve if we let them,

If we allow them.

So instead of seeing that scar tissue,

Instead of cringing,

We can see it for what it is.

It's a culmination of the moments of your life that made you stronger.

The battles,

The laughter,

The perseverance that not only got you through the sludge,

But taught you that you can.

It takes bravery to keep coming back,

To keep showing up,

To lift your head again.

Even if it's just for a moment to remind yourself that you are still here,

And you are still here.
