This isn't it.
This life is not all there is,
And no matter how right you get it,
How close you are,
How connected you become,
The battles you've won,
The fulfillment you reach,
The lessons that you teach,
The breakthroughs,
The heartaches,
The soulmates,
The tribe.
Look deep into the eyes of the sky and know that you weren't abandoned here,
And that this is not all there is.
Just because you've come to know God doesn't mean you don't still get lonely at times.
We long for heaven,
We ache for home,
We try to create it with flesh and bone,
But the home is the spirit,
Flowing,
Unknown.
Home is beyond what our bodies can hold.
You can't know the difference,
It'll never add up,
Yet we rush and rush and rush the clock.
Time moves slowly,
Even though it's an illusion.
If we're rushing the journey,
It means that we're losing.
See,
Heaven can be here,
Its energy can.
We must pray through confusion,
Seek clarity,
And through prayer and petition,
With honor and vision,
We call upon the heavenly realms,
We close the doors we've opened to hell.
We bathe in light to endure this fight,
Knowing there is no real battle,
That when we lay down our weapons and trust the divine,
Our hearts will be opened,
Our enemies made blind.
The angels are waiting,
They're calling you home,
They whisper and sing while you feel alone.
But you're never alone,
See,
Nobody is,
For this world of illusion exists all in our heads.
We try to climb out,
But the way out is in,
The troubled courageous find heaven within.
So fear not,
Don't worry,
The future is bright,
Sip slowly and savor your life with delight.
There's no other way out,
If there was,
It's been tried.
So continue to seek and one day you'll find,
No matter the country,
The teaching,
The wit,
You feel like you don't belong here because this isn't it.
