The Nine of Swords represents fear,

Anxiety and worry,

Often related to negative thoughts and beliefs that create a sense of hopelessness or despair.

However,

It can also represent revelation,

Spiritual awakening and the ending of immaturity.

In this exercise,

We will use active imagination to help you gain insight and transform through the challenges of the Nine of Swords,

Particularly in areas related to mental health and emotional well-being.

So first find a comfortable place to sit or lie down where you won't be disturbed.

Take a couple of deep breaths.

Just allow the mind and the body to relax.

Just keeping your attention on the breath for the time being.

If at any point you do get distracted,

Just bring your attention back to the exercise.

Now imagine yourself lying in a bed,

Unable to sleep.

A swarm of swords appears in your mind,

Each one representing a thought,

Belief or worry that is leading to fear and anxiety.

Allow yourself to observe these thoughts without judgement,

Simply noticing them as they arise.

As you observe the swarm of swords,

Ask yourself what beliefs or fears are causing you this distress?

Now allow yourself to go on a journey into your own mind,

Revealing the patterns of thoughts that have led to your current state of worry and fear.

Identify the negative thoughts and beliefs that are causing you fear and worry.

Reflect on how these thoughts have impacted your life and consider how you can change your mindset or behaviour to transform them.

As you gain insights and make the patterns conscious,

Visualise the swarm of swords transforming into another symbol,

Representing the release and transformation of these negative thoughts and beliefs.

Take a moment to observe and experience this new symbol,

Noticing its shape,

Colour and any other details.

Reflect on the significance of this symbol and what it represents for your inner world and personal growth.

Express gratitude for this experience and take a moment to reflect on the insights gained.

Allow these insights to stay with you as you go about your daily life,

Using them to confront and transform your fears and anxieties.

So just bring your attention back to the room now,

Noticing any sounds or sensations.

Take a deep breath and opening your eyes in your own time.
