Hello and welcome to Through the Phases,

An astrological intuitive journaling session for Sagittarius Moon Cycle 2020.

We will focus on the eight common phases of the Moon.

New,

Crescent,

First Quarter,

Gibbous,

Full,

Disseminating,

Last Quarter and Balsamic.

The cycle of the Moon represents the cycle of growth and decay.

A good way to envision it is to follow the cycle of plant life from germination to flower to seed.

The cycle of darkness and reflected light is imprinted within all life on Earth.

The repeating patterns of light and darkness of the Moon's phases invites a personal reflection on our inner knowledge,

Helping to experience a state of intuitive listening and alignment with the ever-changing cycle of nature.

Just a few details of our journaling together.

Astrological knowledge is not necessary although it is helpful.

If you are new to astrology you will be learning as you go,

Developing and deepening your knowledge of astrology through self-observation,

Journaling and engaging in your own life.

If you have more advanced astrological skills,

Bring your own resources and knowledge base to this focused work.

The sentences that you compose your intuitive journal entries can also be aligned with tarot,

Oracle or affirmation decks,

Your prayers or your spell work for further journaling for each phase.

The astrological degrees of the Moon are calculated in tropical zodiac using universal time.

This makes conversion to your own time zone easy to do.

You can do this session with or without your own natal birth chart.

However,

Using your own chart offers more personalized journaling experience by identifying the Moon phase degree in the relevant houses of your chart.

To further personalize your journaling,

Knowing your natal Moon phase offers added personalization to your journaling so you can focus your creative and intuitive strengths during that particular phase every month.

Also noting when the Moon revisits the same astrological degree as your natal Moon degree can also offer a strong creative intuitive time frame.

A note about weaving intuition into your daily life.

Sometimes staying constantly in tune with your intuition and empathic process can be overwhelming.

A system of grounding and balance is required.

Please find a grounding exercise that works for you and your individual needs on a daily basis.

This journal process is not meant as a substitute for professional mental health or spiritual counseling.

So,

Let's begin our intuitive Moon journaling together.

The new Moon in Sagittarius is on December 14,

2020 at 16 hours 16 minutes into the day.

Please convert that to your own time zone.

The degree of the Sun and the Moon is 23 Sagittarius 8 minutes,

Which is also a time frame of a solar eclipse this year.

Solar eclipses are time frames where you may want to think about what kinds of opportunities lie ahead for you,

What doorways might be opening,

Especially something that falls within Sagittarius symbology.

So the keywords to think about for your journaling are the Sagittarian keywords for expansive,

Philosophical,

Truth-seeking,

Ethical,

Idealistic,

Optimistic,

Inspiring,

Truth-seeking,

Motivational and wise.

At the new Moon,

We're thinking about what do you want to emerge with?

What would you like to see come into your life for the next month?

What is emerging?

What are you opening up to for the upcoming cycle?

What is entering into your awareness?

And what does your intuition bring?

It's a very contemplative time frame.

Its symbolic processes,

The seedling or the germinating seed underground.

So an example of your journal entry for the new Moon on December 14th might read something like,

I emerge with an optimistic outlook for the upcoming Moon cycle.

If you're using your natal chart,

Find that degree 23 Sagittarius 08 in your natal chart and use the house that it falls in as added source for journaling.

The next Moon phase,

The crescent phase,

Is on December 18th,

2020 at 3.

02 universal time at 11 degrees of Aquarius 38 minutes.

The process around the crescent Moon is about challenging yourself or making a promise to yourself.

Also,

What are you willing to overcome that is worth letting go of?

What are your resources and how can you prepare?

What change are you resisting that would be beneficial for you?

It's a time frame of becoming prepared.

It's like the tiny sprout coming out of the ground.

Some of the common keywords for the sign of Aquarius are the collective,

Humanitarianism,

Innovative,

Progressive,

Eccentric,

Detached,

Friendly,

Gregarious,

Generous,

Unpredictable or aloof.

So what kinds of things are you challenging or promising to yourself?

An example might read something like,

I challenge myself to a more friendly approach.

Our next Moon phase is the first quarter Moon phase.

It is on December 21st,

2020 at 23 hours 41 minutes into the day.

The Moon degree is zero Aries 34.

This is also the day of Jupiter Saturn conjunction.

The approach for the first quarter is about taking action.

So our journaling statement may start with,

I take action on something that's of an Aries nature.

Our keywords for Aries are assertive,

Courageous,

Independent,

Passionate,

Athletic,

Enthusiastic,

Active,

Initiating,

Focused or direct.

What steps will I take toward accomplishing my goals?

How do I move forward in the next few days and or long term?

This is an action outlook.

It's about the root and the stem and the leaf development in the plant and photosynthesis is starting and strengthening.

A journal entry for the first quarter in Aries might sound something like,

I take action on my focused and independent plans.

Our next Moon phase is known as the Gibbous Moon phase.

The date is December 26th,

2020 at 3.

02 UTC.

Again,

Please convert that to your own time zone.

Sometimes the day changes.

The degree of the Moon is at 19 Taurus 47.

So the Gibbous Moon phase is about developing or maintaining structure of something.

What do you need to do to stay on track?

What do you need to stay organized?

Are there things that you need to compromise?

In the plant life,

It's the buds begin to appear and develop in size.

So the keywords for Taurus are sensual,

Physical,

Reliable,

Consistent,

Resourceful,

Deliberate,

Passive,

Practical,

Financial and comfortable.

So a journal entry for a Gibbous Moon phase in Taurus may sound something like,

I develop structure with practical and comfortable activities.

Our full Moon cycle is on December 30th,

2020.

The time frame is 3.

28 UTC.

The Moon's degree is at 8 degrees of Cancer,

53 minutes.

So a full Moon is often a very heightened emotional time frame.

And because if we think about what the full Moon is,

It's a reflection of the Sun on the face of the Moon.

We can think about reflecting our own fulfillment.

Keywords for the sign of Cancer are family oriented,

Nurturing,

Emotional,

Protective,

Psychic,

Domestic,

Sustaining,

Intuitive,

Sensitive,

Supportive,

Attached and connected.

So our journal entry for the full Moon in Cancer might be something like,

I reflect fulfillment.

During the full Moon phase,

We may ask ourselves,

How do I see myself functioning in my world within my own process?

What does it look like within me and in my day to day world?

This is a very reflective outlook.

If we consider the life of the plant,

It's the time frame of the flowering and the fruit.

A journal entry for a full Moon in Cancer might sound something like,

I reflect my own fulfillment through my sensitive and nurturing outlook.

Our next phase,

The disseminating phase,

Is on January 2nd,

2021 at 21.

06 UTC.

The Moon degree is 27 Leo 41.

The disseminating Moon phase is about the concept of sharing.

It aligns with the first harvest of the agricultural year.

How can we best share our experiences?

How can I help others with my own learning and experience?

The keywords for Leo are self-confident,

Dignified,

Generous,

Playful,

Dramatic,

Courageous,

Caring,

Radiant,

Romantic,

Loving,

Generous,

Self-centered,

And strong.

The journal entry for a disseminating Moon in Leo may sound something like,

I share my strong and loving nature with others.

The next Moon phase is the last quarter Moon phase.

It's January 6th,

2021 at 9.

37 UTC.

The Moon's degree is at 16 Libra 17.

The last quarter is about looking at how we can change our perspective on things,

Especially things we want to let go of.

It's not serving me and or my community.

How do I let go of these patterns?

It's a very reorienting outlook,

Timeframe.

The stage of plant life that goes with this is the decay or the last harvest and the turning under of the plants remains for composting.

So we really want to talk about letting go of something.

We want to change our perspective.

So the keywords for Moon in Libra are cooperative,

Fair,

Considerate,

Artistic,

Tasteful,

Diplomatic,

Tactful,

Impartial,

Refined,

Balanced,

Deliberate,

Soft-spoken,

And judgmental.

So in this case,

Because we want to let go of something that's not necessarily serving us,

We want to think about more negative attitudes that Libra can present us with.

So a journal entry for the last quarter Moon phase in Libra may sound something like,

I changed perspective on my judgmental nature.

The last Moon phase,

The balsamic Moon phase is on January 9th,

2021 at 19.

01 UTC.

The Moon degree is 4 degrees of Sagittarius 44.

So the balsamic Moon phase is really about a much deeper release or a resolution of the past month and also a time to plan for the upcoming month ahead.

So we're right back in Sagittarius,

Although at a different degree,

We've made full circle.

So how do I resolve the past Moon cycle and visualize my plan for the upcoming process?

In the life of the plant,

The seed is now planted and it's released to develop the next cycle.

And germination may already be starting.

So some keywords for Sagittarius again are expansive,

Philosophical,

Truth seeking,

Ethical,

Idealistic,

Optimistic,

Inspiring,

Wise,

Truth seeking,

Motivational,

And honest.

To end our session today,

Our Sagittarian balsamic Moon phase journal entry might be something like,

I plan ethical and inspired activities.

And that's our journaling for the Sagittarian Moon cycle 2020,

Which takes us into the new year of 2021.

I hope you've enjoyed your journaling session and I look forward to working with you during the next Moon cycle.
