Hey everyone,
This is Monti with Mindful Higher Ed and I'd like to invite you to join me this morning for a loving-kindness meditation.
Whether you're sitting in your chair or your couch or your sofa or maybe you're still just laying in bed,
Let me invite you now just to settle in,
Just getting comfy and cozy into your position.
Maybe feeling the weight of your body as you settle in,
Allowing yourself to breathe nice and slow,
Just filling your lungs and belly with nourishing oxygen from Mother Earth.
Maybe even breathing in and breathing out some gratitude for Mother Earth and all that she does.
And as we begin this loving-kindness meditation,
Let's just take a few more moments of deep breathing,
Just breathing in and breathing out nice and slow,
Just allowing your body to arrive in this moment.
And as we begin our loving-kindness meditation,
I'd like to invite you now,
As you breathe in,
To imagine that with each end breath,
You're just tuning in to that energy in your heart,
Tuning in to that energy of love,
Tuning in to that energy of compassion,
Tuning in to that energy of infinite forgiveness.
And as you breathe in that energy,
That energy fills your heart like a gentle white light.
And with each end breath,
That gentle light gets brighter and brighter,
Just tuning in more to that inner love within.
And as you breathe out,
At the same time,
Let me invite you now just to imagine you are sending every part of your body,
Every cell of your body,
Every bone of your body,
Soothing loving energy,
And just letting that energy flow throughout your blood and fill every muscle of your being,
Every fiber of who you are,
Just tender,
Loving care,
And allowing that light to fill every atom,
Every cell,
Every molecule of your being.
And just knowing we are ultimately beings of infinite love,
Infinite compassion,
Infinite forgiveness.
And just breathing in that love as your heart goes brighter and brighter,
And breathing out that love throughout your entire being,
From head to toe,
Top to bottom.
And if you wish,
I'd like to invite you now to extend this loving kindness,
And to begin,
I'd like to invite you to imagine somebody whom you love deeply.
Just imagine what that being looks like,
Living or not,
A person or not,
Could be a beloved pet.
And just imagine that being in front of you,
And looking at every little detail of this being,
The way they sound,
Maybe the smile on their face,
And just really feeling that love that they have for you,
And the love that you have for them.
And just literally breathing in that love,
And breathing out that love,
In a perfect cycle,
And just realizing how love connects us all.
And as we continue our loving kindness this morning,
Next,
Let me invite you to imagine perhaps an acquaintance,
Or a colleague you know,
Somebody you don't know that well,
But you see them around from time to time.
And now bringing this being into your mind's eye,
And just sending them some of this loving kindness,
Just extending that love from your being to them,
And seeing how that makes you feel.
And perhaps you can even feel the love in their lives touching yours.
And now my friends,
Let me invite you to imagine sending this loving kindness to the whole world,
To all living beings,
Near or far,
In this nation or another,
All living beings,
Right here,
Right now.
And just extending that love like a warm blanket,
As far as the eye can imagine,
And feeling that love transcend time,
And transcend space.
And as we come to the close of this very short morning meditation,
Let me invite you now to return all of that love,
All of that compassion,
All of that infinite forgiveness,
And return it back to yourself.
Just breathing in that love,
And breathing out that love,
And realizing wherever you are,
Wherever you are,
Whenever you are,
You can always tap into this infinite energy,
Simply with a breath.
And when you are ready,
My friends,
Let me invite you now to gently begin to wiggle your fingers,
Gently begin to wiggle your toes,
Very,
Very gently begin to stretch,
Very,
Very gently begin to open your eyes,
As we settle back into this present moment.
Thank you,
My friends.
May you go in peace.
