We are not the same.
But we are one.
That message right there carries with it a frequency of truth,
Harmony,
Peace,
Acceptance,
And a type of energy that can carry over a crevasse that otherwise would create trouble.
Let's break it down.
We're not the same,
First half,
Second half,
But we are one.
What do you feel when you hear that?
Do you feel hope?
Do you feel distance?
Do you feel sovereignty?
Do you feel connection?
Tell you what I feel,
I feel all those things.
And I also feel this big F yes,
Like we're not the same.
Like if I notice something that doesn't feel good,
We are not the same.
That relieves me of that burning desire sometimes to create harmony,
To create some sort of solution,
To ease the part of myself that feels like I'm vibrating I'm a highly sensitive person,
So sometimes that can happen.
If I see a person struggling,
I'll vibrate as struggle.
Or even if someone has a broken arm,
I'll feel my arm become a little less awesome.
And it's like,
I empathize.
And We Are Not The Same allows me permission not to empathize,
Allows us to have difference.
But almost,
Or just as powerful as that,
Is it allows us to be unique.
Like if we're all meant to be the same,
We'd all have the same fingerprint,
We'd all look the same,
We'd all talk the same,
We'd all wear the same size basketball shoe.
But we know we don't.
So why not celebrate that?
Diversity,
Celebration,
Awesomeness.
We can do this.
The second half is really powerful.
We are one.
That sort of,
As a great spiritual teacher says,
You know,
We're all in the same boat.
Like that creates true altruism.
And when you realize we're all in the same boat,
And you see somebody struggling,
As I pointed out before,
It makes you want to help them.
We're all one.
Like,
Rather than just like scooting past them and hurrying,
You lend an ear and listen.
Is there any way that I can help this situation be better?
And if it's a yes,
Then you use your skill and your craft as being an adept human being.
And perhaps you step in and do something.
Or another example could be,
We are one,
So let's treat this earth well.
We are one,
So let's help those who are not doing well.
We are one,
So those who are doing well,
Ask what they're doing and maybe they'll want to chip in with a little intellectual capital and help you on your journey.
It's a really powerful phrase,
And it can be said anytime you notice disharmony or discord between another,
As subtle as it might be at a coffee shop,
While driving,
In personal interactions.
It's profound,
And I invite you to dance with this,
And comment if you'd like about what this phrase means to you,
And I encourage you to use it.
