A Million Stories: A Love Poem

A million stories,

A poem.

I want to play with you,

To fall at your feet,

And have you lift me up and remind me that worship of and in itself does not bear fruit.

And yet,

The mere act of falling suggests a letting go and a diving into the ocean of love.

I have a million stories in me which merge with the silence and become golden.

But I am not looking,

Because each moment finds itself in me.

Sometimes your face appears in my mind,

Mirthful and full,

And I want you then,

But not to possess,

Never that.

How can you possess a thing that flies?

Your wings are so soft,

They are powder to touch,

And nothing can hold you,

My friend.

When you are near,

The world forgets itself,

And all things turn like dust in the sun.
