Hello and welcome,

Little mermaids and mermen!

Shelly Mermaid here!

Are you ready to dive into our magical mermaid dance?

Let's begin by finding a comfortable standing position,

With our feet planted firmly on the ocean floor.

That's right,

Stand up in a place that you have lots of space.

Good job!

Now we're going to use our imaginations.

That's one of my favorite things to do.

Imagine you're wearing your most sparkly mermaid tail and shimmering seashell crown.

Now you look like me!

Wiggle your hips from side to side,

Feeling the rhythm of the ocean waves beneath you.

Can you wiggle those hips?

Good job!

Now let's sway our arms gracefully above our heads,

Like seaweed swaying in the gentle current.

Do that seaweed dance!

Arms all the way up and go back and forth like seaweed.

Whee!

That's fun!

Reach up high,

High,

High,

And bring your arms back down to your sides.

Woof!

Wow,

Good job!

Now let's wiggle our fingers like we're playing with bubbles in the sea.

Wiggle your fingers,

Wiggle,

Wiggle,

Wiggle,

Wiggle!

You can put them in front of you and wiggle your fingers in front of you too.

Wiggle,

Wiggle,

Wiggle,

And shake your hands out!

Now put your hands down by your side and take a deep breath in through your nose.

And let it out!

Let's wiggle our fingers in front of us again,

Making all of the bubbles.

Okay,

Put your hands in front of you and wiggle,

Wiggle,

Wiggle,

Wiggle,

Wiggle!

Let's pretend our hands are in the water and we're making lots of little bubbles.

Wiggle those hands!

Now spread your arms out to the sides and stretch as far as you can.

Ah,

Good job!

Set them down next to your sides again.

Which one do you like the best so far?

The bubble dance or the seaweed dance?

Let's do the seaweed again.

Okay,

Now put your arms way up into the air above your heads and great!

Your arms way up into the air above your heads and gracefully go back and forth,

Swaying in the ocean currents.

That feels so good to get all of those stretches out.

Yes!

Wave back and forth with your whole body.

Now put your arms way up and stretch,

Stretch,

Stretch!

And then put them down.

Good job!

Okay,

Now let's twist our bodies from side to side.

We can act like we're playful dolphins chasing each other through the waves.

So twist with your feet planted in one spot.

Move your body to one side,

Twisting.

Facing one side with your whole body.

Twist,

Twist,

Twist!

And return to center.

Oh,

Good job!

Now twist to the other side.

Twist,

Twist,

Twist,

Twist!

Oh,

Feel that good stretch!

Yes!

Now return to center.

Oh,

Do you want to do that again?

Put your arms out to the sides this time and let's try it that way.

Keep your arms out to the sides and twist all the way around to the side,

Keeping your feet still.

Good twist!

Now go to the center and stretch those arms out to the side and do a twist in the other direction.

Twist,

Twist,

Twist!

Good job!

Now return to the center and you can put those arms down.

Oh,

That feels so good!

Now,

Why don't we finish our mermaid dance by stomping our feet lightly on the ocean floor,

Making a rhythm like the heartbeat of the sea.

We can pretend that our feet are our tail,

Thump,

Thump,

Thumping.

So stomp,

Stomp,

Stomp.

Good job!

What we're going to do is take a deep breath in and when we let it out,

We'll stomp,

Stomp,

Stomp our feet.

How about that?

Okay,

So take a deep breath in and out.

Stomp,

Stomp,

Stomp!

Good job!

Let's do it again.

Deep breath in and stomp,

Stomp,

Stomp when you let it out.

One more time.

Deep breath in and stomp,

Stomp,

Stomp those feet on the ocean floor.

Okay,

For the next breath in,

We're going to bring our hands together with our palms together in front of our hearts.

Are you ready for that?

Take a deep breath in and let's bring our hands together in front of our hearts,

Feeling grateful for this joyful mermaid dance and breathe out,

Leaving your hands there,

Feeling all the gratitude.

Oh yeah!

Now let's spread our arms wide and send love out into the ocean.
