Psalm 71 6,
From birth I have relied on you.
You brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you.
As you settle into a quiet space with your eyes closed,
Muscles of your face softening your forehead,
Your eyebrows,
Your ears,
Jaw,
Tongue,
And the muscles of your face melting deeper still.
In this moment as you begin to breathe,
Imagine God breathing his life into your body,
Creating life.
Breathe in and follow that.
Exhale slowly out.
In this moment as you continue to breathe,
Imagining in the womb,
The life,
The creation,
Fearfully and wonderfully made,
As you rely on God,
Your mother,
The womb,
The space.
And in that space,
The reliance that you had on God without even knowing it.
As you continue to breathe in this moment,
Visualize that precious baby you formed and created a masterpiece coming forth from the womb,
Taking that first breath.
Inhale and exhale.
I invite you in the stillness to continue to breathe,
Taking in the preciousness of creation,
The reliance from birth that we have had on God,
Bringing us forth from the womb into this world.
Nothing has changed from conception to the moment that you are in now,
The reliance and the dependence that we have on God for every breath,
For every part of our body to work,
For every part and being of our mind,
Our body,
Our soul and our spirit to work in unity and harmony for purpose and design.
And in this moment,
As you settle into the surrender of trusting and relying on the same God that created you in the womb and brought you forth from the womb and placed you on the earth for times such as now,
Knowing that all of your days have been numbered before one of them came to be,
That he knows the very hair on your hand,
He knows the thoughts before you think them as the grasp of that reality sinks in,
Appreciating the tenderness of our ability to rely on God and to know that we are safely and securely protected like the apple of his eye,
Sheltered and protected under his wing.
From my birth,
I have relied on you.
You brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you.
From birth,
I have relied on you.
You brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you.
From birth,
I have relied on you.
You brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you.
In this moment,
I just invite you to rest in the stillness and the peace and the quiet and the comfort of knowing that you are seeing that you were created and that you have a divine purpose and plan.
As you rely on God for your every breath,
May he give you the assurance of his comfort,
His peace,
His strength and the courage to meet the days ahead.
Peace.
