Hello,
I'm Ryan Grimes and I'd just like to lead you through a short loving-kindness meditation.
So quite often we are an inner critic instead of an inner ally.
So this meditation will help soften our attitudes towards ourselves.
And this meditation can be done in any posture and can even be done while you're on the go.
So I'd like us to begin by just bringing your attention into the physical body.
So if you're sitting,
Noticing the sensations of the body sitting,
And if you're walking,
Noticing what the body feels like as you move.
Noticing the sensations of the ground against your feet,
Your cushion or chair against your body just wherever you are,
Just tuning into this physical sensation of being present in this moment,
In this reality.
And so beginning to turn your attention toward yourself and seeing if you can foster a feeling of unconditional love towards yourself,
Loving yourself exactly as you are right now.
And then if it helps,
Bringing some well-wishes towards yourself.
So repeating these phrases after me in your mind and not repeating them like a mantra,
Doing your best to really mean these phrases.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be safe.
May I be at peace.
And so resting again in the physicality of the body in this present moment as we continue to go throughout the rest of our day.
