Welcome,

Welcome.

So why do we om?

Why do we om?

This cosmic roar,

This pranava,

The unstruct sound of the universe.

Why do we om in yoga?

Well,

The sound of om is a three-part sound that signifies the beginning,

The sustenance,

And the dissolution of all things.

This breath,

This heartbeat,

The expansion and contraction of every atom on this planet,

And this very life.

The sound of om is everywhere.

Just sit outside on a summer morning,

Close your eyes and listen.

The vibrational sound of the crickets and birds chirping matches that of the blood flowing through your veins.

The speed of the hustling city sounds buzz by with a resonating quality.

In terms of opening the throat chakra,

Om gives rise to our own powerful voice.

The vibrational sound moves from the back of the throat through the cavity of the mouth and out through the nasal passage,

Ending in a bee-like hum that shifts our attention from outward looking to inward peace and calm.

Energetically,

We pull up from the earth,

From our ancestors,

Our lineage,

And from that place in which this physical body manifests from.

That energy radiates through our vital organs and our chest cavity,

The necessities for our sustained life,

And finally emanated out the crown of our head,

The seat of our spiritual intuition.

This primordial omnipresent sound was recorded by researchers as the sound emanated by the sun,

The source which offers life,

Warmth,

And nourishment for our planet.

Om became the sacred word hum of the Tibetans,

Amin of the Muslims,

And amen of the Egyptians,

The Greeks,

The Romans,

And the Christians.

Speaking the word om is a powerful tool to reconnect us with the creative force of our own unique understanding and with all other beings.

Some say that oming is training for death.

If at the moment of death,

You are so in touch with spirit that you om while leaving your body,

Your soul will depart through the juncture of the four plates and the crown of your head.

It's said that departing your body in this way will set you free from the wheel of samsara,

The cycle of suffering.

So why do we om?

We om to find our powerful voice.

We om to connect with our own breath and the ancient energetic wisdom that lives innately in our bodies.

We om to connect with ancestors and with the vitality of all beings on this planet.

Those who have come before us walk with us and who will come after us.

We om to connect with our own unique understanding of the source of all creation.

So will you om with me?

Yeah,

Let's begin.

We'll just do a rolling om.

So exhale the air out completely.

Feel all the way up.

Om Om Om Om Om Om Om Om Thank you for joining me in this om,

This cosmic roar,

This pranava,

The unstruct sound of the universe.
