Sound Bath Sessions 186: Scalar Choi & Elena Yeo

I went to the Bucheon City Hall station to record Yun and Elena in her apartment. Yun Invited Elena from Busan to play the session together with her. Yun had a room just for sound baths and their gongs and bowls were already setup. "Brahmarandra: The Sound Of Healing Light" They were going to play a single 40-minute session and to help them plan for it, they made a very organized 3-page script so that they knew what they were going to play. The script was very formal and outlined the theme, structure, timestamps, and instruments. Interestingly, it included a column for their own personal intentions that they would be mindful of when they were playing each section. Even with the script it was a beautiful, seamless improvised experience. A wonderful story. Sound bath as art. I preserved the dynamics of the recording so keep the volume comfortable in the beginning, when the gong comes in it will be loud.
