This gratitude meditation helps you to reflect on positive events in your life with a renewed sense of appreciation for all that you have been given. Recognizing that the universe works through us gives us a greater appreciation of what we are able to accomplish. Once we realize that our gifts are simply a way to serve a higher purpose, we lessen the amount of false pride we have in our work. Instead, our work takes on a deeper meaning.

Welcome to the meditation titled,

Practicing Gratitude and Humility Towards Your Achievements.

Recognizing that the universe works through us gives us a greater appreciation of what we are able to accomplish in life.

Once we realize that our gifts are simply a way to serve a higher purpose,

We lessen the amount of false pride we have in our work.

Instead,

Our work takes on a deeper meaning since we know that our achievements are due entirely to the guidance and love of the universe.

Our work then is more than merely getting things done.

It is a way to serve and honor the universal spirit that resides in all of us.

By seeing the source of our talents today,

Our work will have greater meaning.

In today's meditation,

We will focus on deepening our sense of gratitude and appreciation towards positive events in our lives,

Including our accomplishments and achievements.

Let's begin by finding a posture that feels both relaxed and alert.

Soften any tension or tightness in the body.

Relax the belly and allow your belly to rise and fall with each breath.

Drop your shoulders.

Loosen your jaw.

You can close your eyes or look downward just to limit visual distractions.

And bring to mind a very positive event in your life.

Something you feel very happy about in your life.

Maybe it's an educational or a career achievement.

Maybe it's a pet or a special trip that you took.

Now think back to the time of this event and the circumstances that made this possible to begin with.

Everything that happened to bring this to life,

That made the circumstance or situation possible.

What were all of the factors involved?

Now see if you can consider the ways in which this event may never have happened.

See if you can consider the ways in which this event may never have happened in the first place.

For example,

What if you hadn't have happened to have learned about a certain job that was opening at the right moment or walking down the street at that specific time or making a decision to do something that might have felt irrelevant or uncertain or inconsequential at the time.

But consider that this event may never have happened at all.

Imagine all the possible events and decisions that could have gone differently and prevented this event from occurring.

All the possible situations,

Circumstances,

Choices that may have been large or small that could have gone differently and prevented this beautiful thing in your life from entering your life in the first place.

Imagine what your life would be like now if you hadn't enjoyed the positive event and all of the fruits that have flowed from it.

Just imagine how your life might have been different without this event.

Now shift your focus to remind yourself that this event actually did happen.

Take in all the benefits that it has brought you,

All of the beautiful moments or feelings,

All of the blessings in your life that have come from this event.

Now that you've considered how the things might have turned out differently,

Just appreciate that these benefits were not inevitable in your life,

That it could have been very different.

So appreciate all of the good that has come about from this event and allow yourself to feel grateful that things happened as they did.
