The third of four Meditations for Troubled Times, originally published as a response to the pandemic. Each meditation speaks to a quality of the human soul when confronted with the struggle to find the path to tread through life's hardest times. ’Listen for the Rhythm’ offers a re-starting and growth away from the deepest times of distress with the vision of new horizons beyond.

Transcript

In chaos and confusion there is no rhythm.

Breathe serenity into the chaos.

Behind everything that moves there is stillness.

Steal away from the tumult.

Behind the clamour of the world there is silence.

Pass through the curtain of discord.

Come now and walk beyond the turmoil and commotion.

Step gently.

Listen to the silence.

Within the quiet and the stillness we can start to sense a rhythm.

The slow measure of our breath,

The gentle beat of our heart,

The turning world.

Day and night,

Season from season,

Year upon year.

Passing,

Turning,

Returning.

And our living in time,

In harmony.

The quiet and the stillness we can start to sense a rhythm.

Simply being can be enough.

Simply being as we return to our world.

The quiet and the stillness we can start to sense a rhythm.
