Hi,
This is Stefania and for today's wisdom bit we have a poem.
It's a bit of an energy boost to help you when you're feeling like things are just too much.
When you're working on a project and you think,
Everybody thinks I can't do this thing.
Is it them or is it me?
Maybe I should just forget it.
It is a little bit hard.
Maybe they know better than me.
But I'm here to tell you,
Maybe they don't know better than you.
And this is a poem which I found called,
It Couldn't Be Done.
It's about a gentleman who was told so many times it couldn't be done.
Give it up.
Take a miss.
But he didn't listen.
He just pressed on.
And now here's our poem by Edgar Albert Guest.
It Couldn't Be Done.
Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied that maybe it couldn't,
But he would be the one who wouldn't say so till he tried.
So he buckled right in with a trace of a grin on his face.
If he worried,
He hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing that couldn't be done.
And he did it.
Somebody scoffed,
Oh,
You'll never do that.
At least no one has ever done it.
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat.
And the first thing we knew,
He'd begun it.
With the lift of his chin and the bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or credit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing that couldn't be done.
And he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done.
There are thousands to prophecy failure.
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckled in with a bit of a grin.
Just take off your coat and go to it.
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing that cannot be done.
And you'll do it.
And that was It Couldn't Be Done by Edgar Albert Guest.
Until next time,
Just keep going.
Don't give up.
Persist.
