Hi,

This is Stefania and today we have a short story.

It was written by Lauren Eisley called The Starfish Story.

But before I read the story to you,

Have you ever felt like you wanted to do something to make a difference in the world,

To help,

But you said,

I'm just one person.

What I do is just a drop in the ocean,

Doesn't even make any difference.

Why should I even bother?

But you never know how that one action,

That one desire manifested into physical form can spread out like ripples in a pond and help not just one person,

But many people.

So just know you are important.

You matter.

You count.

Your actions count.

So don't ever feel yourself or your actions to be insignificant because one by one by one you add them all together.

That's a pretty significant amount of effort of people,

Of energy.

And now The Starfish Story.

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking up something and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Approaching the boy he asked,

What are you doing?

The youth replied,

Throwing starfish back into the ocean.

The surf is up and the tide is going out.

If I don't throw them back they'll die.

Son,

The man said,

Don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish.

You can't make a difference.

After listening politely,

The boy bent down,

Picked up another starfish and threw it back into the surf.

Then smiling at the man he said,

I made a difference for that one.

And that's the little parable,

The little story of the starfish.

Even one action can be useful.

Even one small action can have a big result.

And now let's finish off with an affirmation to open our hearts to be that one source of action for somebody,

Something,

Somewhere,

Sometime.

My mind,

Heart and spirit are open to being a channel for good for others.

My mind and heart are open to being a channel for good to others.

I act from my heart and reach out when I am guided to offer and receive help.

I open my mind and heart to reach out as I am guided to both offer and to receive help.

And that's it for today.

Until next time.
