Your pain isn’t proof that someone hurt you. It’s an invitation to come out of hiding. Tiger challenges the story that other people “cause” your suffering, and points to the responsibility and power underneath it. This is a call into trust—not “trusting yourself” as another protection strategy, but trusting life as you see more clearly what’s real. There’s an ocean of love waiting when you stop living in the mind’s photographs and start looking.

Some people really want to believe that their pain is caused by other people.

And it's understandable because it's a great responsibility to see how powerful you are.

To see just how deeply you are the fundamental prize and nobody else has it.

Because it comes with a great responsibility of letting everybody else go.

Which means you really have to come out of hiding.

And that's tough.

I know it's scary.

And it's my favorite thing to hold space for people to come out of hiding.

Because I know what's really there.

I know there's nothing to be afraid of.

And so it's not a big deal.

No.

All I can do is extend an invitation.

Say,

You want to look?

You want to see what's really going on?

No,

It's too scary.

Well,

What if I promise you there's actually nothing to be afraid of?

Really?

Okay.

And then we open the eyes of our heart and we say,

Oh my God.

There's so much love here.

There's so much forgiveness.

There's so much yada,

Yada,

Yada,

All things lovely.

Yeah.

And you can't force anyone into it.

It really is an invitation.

You're invited,

But you don't have to go there.

But I hope you see that all of your pain is inviting you to go there.

Because honestly,

There is a beautiful life waiting for you.

Do you see this?

There is an ocean of love just waiting for you.

There is a universe worth of forgiveness and compassion just waiting for you.

An invitation to release every resentment that you think is about others,

But is really about yourself.

There's a beautiful life waiting for you.

I think partly the issue is you're trying to trust yourself.

Good luck with that.

Trying to trust yourself is a subtle form of trying to protect yourself.

And what I'm kind of pointing to here,

And it takes time,

But what I'm pointing to is an invitation to see a greater totality of the life you're swimming in so that you can more fully trust life.

And this is a process.

It is a devotional journey where as you begin to look,

And a lot of these illusions start to get burned alive,

Not as if they're actually alive,

But they become exposed for the falsehood that they are.

You become more open and curious to look behind the curtain and see what's really happening.

And the more you look,

The more you see.

It's like trust is the only option.

There's nowhere else to go.

And so it's not even so much something that you tried to do.

You just see it's the only option,

Which is also like the great surrendering of your own personal effort.

You see that it's not something that you do.

It's something that's already there.

And again,

We're trying to put words to this.

But what I love about trying to put words to it is that in one way,

It's like I'm kind of poking at your heart and seeing if your heart will open up to see something that I'm pointing to,

Which is a very different experience than just thinking about these things.

Although thinking about them can be a doorway.

You know,

It's the vast difference between thinking about life and actually being alive.

Do you see the disparity there?

The great difference between a photograph of a sunset and the actual sunset?

The mind is just photographs.

It's images.

It's imagination.

It's the unreal.

And then there's reality.

And most human beings,

They just completely live their life in the mind where they can't even distinguish between the two.

They literally think that what they think is reality.

That who they think they are is what they really are.

And my goodness,

What a disparity between a photograph of you and the reality of you.

What a world of difference.

Furthermore,

What you think is going on compared to what is really going on.

What a world of difference.

Because in the reality of what is going on,

Using these silly words,

It's only love.

And so,

You know,

What am I to do other than to just be here and be available?

Right?

Just put myself here and say,

Hey,

You want to talk?

You want to look?

No?

Okay,

That's fine.

Love you.
