Dear Friends,
Welcome to this new day filled with at least one possibility offered to all of us.
Whatever befalls any of us today,
We can all be kind.
And so a morning dedication,
Which can be directed to God or the universe,
Or whatever you believe is the underlying basis for your existence.
You might like to pause here to direct your good intentions in that direction.
And so we begin.
From the bottom of my heart,
I give thanks today for my being here.
I express gratitude for my senses,
Giving me the possibility of noticing this day.
Let my awakening thought be one of gratitude for existence itself,
And especially for the wonder of my own existence,
Which is against inconceivable odds.
I know that even with the best of intentions,
My efforts today will not change the world.
But I know that I can send out ripples which will have an effect far and wide.
And these ripples,
Magnified by others,
Can indeed change the world.
So for today,
May I first of all resolve to do no harm.
This sounds easy and achievable,
Until I realise my capacity for thoughts and words as well as actions,
And until I notice that I have the capacity to slip off the planned course if I fail to act where conscience tells me I should.
But anyway,
Let me resolve today to do no harm.
And hopefully doing no harm,
Can I raise my sights just a little and see if I can do something good today,
Something positive.
We each have unique talents and possibilities for positive action.
These are opportunities that are uniquely ours.
No one can dedicate your life to the ultimate good except you yourself,
And the same applies to me.
So let us all resolve to make some positive difference to someone or to something in our area of interest and influence today.
A one-minute pause now for reflection and resolution.
And finally,
We give thanks today for everyone and everything that offers us the possibility of making this world of ours a kinder,
Warmer,
More loving place than it was yesterday.
May we each be blessed in our efforts,
And may we be encouraged by all those who have ever received any encouragement from us.
Namaste.
