You are standing on a field on a starry night.
A full moon is shining against a perfectly black sky,
Overlooking the field,
Guiding you as only the moon can.
You hear the crickets singing their songs,
And their singing is the only sound you can perceive.
It is a windless,
Cloudless night,
And the moon's shiny face attracts all your attention with its mysterious pull.
Its light falls gently on your face.
You are moonbathing,
But it's not nutrients that you're absorbing.
It's something that fits your spirit more than your body.
It's what's been feeding the tides and the creatures on this earth for millions of years.
From corals to sandhoppers.
From joint pines to dung beetles.
Now you.
You are here,
Bearing witness to the complex changes the moon brings with it.
A cycle of birth and growth and death and rebirth.
You have seen these cycles.
You have felt them within you.
We often think of life as a straight path,
But we very rarely walk in a linear way.
No,
Life is not linear.
It's round like the planet that gave us life.
Like the belly that carried us until we were ready to breathe.
Like the sun that made us grow.
Like the moon that is shining on you now.
And round and round we go,
Stopping at times,
Retracing our steps,
Starting again and again and again,
Because the nature of circles is endless.
We've been taught that life is a race where we have to atrun everyone,
Including life itself,
Sometimes even ourselves.
But it's not a race.
It's a dance.
And as you observe the moon,
You realise this now.
The moon dances with all of us.
The tights,
The corals,
The sandhoppers,
The joint pines,
The dung beetles,
The humans,
The earth.
There is no goal,
No pace we need to adjust to.
We've built entire worlds that defy this law of nature.
Worlds that trample and suffocate.
Worlds that attempt to be perfectly linear,
That make us forget where we come from and where we're going.
These worlds were born from the energy of the sun and are just as powerful.
But this planet was embirthed by the sun only.
It is also a child of the moon.
Without this delicate balance between the two,
There would be no place we would not be.
We have forgotten how to dance,
So I invite you to look at this beautiful moon and dance.
No more running and outrunning.
It is time to stop and let the moon guide you.
Let the windbeams touch you until you remember you are a moon child.
Take a deep breath and exhale.
Let your body sink,
Let your muscles relax.
Focus on the sound of the crickets and observe the moon.
Imagine you're looking at it through a telescope and notice a little window opening on its surface.
Through this window,
You observe a scene being played.
A scene which represents something that is upsetting you today.
Past memory,
Future fear,
A worry of some kind.
The scene doesn't feel good but notice how it's separate from you.
The moon is showing you you can detach from it,
At least for a few minutes,
And observe it from a distance.
It's so far from you now,
This scene,
And the moon is helping you process it by surrounding it with its light.
The scene becomes brighter and brighter until it dissolves,
Engulfed by this white light.
Now the light is coming out of the window to shine on you,
Transforming all worries into calm.
Feel its warm embrace.
Give yourself permission to leave these worries aside just for a moment.
Just breathe.
Just be.
Think of all the people in the world who are looking at this moon right now and all the people who have danced beneath it for centuries.
Think of all the creatures that breathe and live under the moon just like you.
Think of the moon in the vast dark universe,
Making life on earth possible,
Unleashing the cycles we live by.
Birth,
Growth,
Death,
Rebirth.
Birth,
Growth,
Death,
Rebirth.
The two shall pass.
Breathe deeply now,
Filling up your lungs with life-giving air,
But you're inhaling more than air,
You're inhaling light.
Moonlight that is shining on you is starting to permeate your body,
And the deeper you breathe,
The more it expands through you until it reaches your bloodstream.
Pure white light floods your body,
Healing what needs to be healed,
Rejuvenating your cells,
Bringing to you new life,
New thoughts,
New possibilities.
You're becoming lighter and lighter,
Gravity pulling you less and less,
The heaviness of your worries lifting.
There is only peace here,
The kind of peace you once felt in the womb that brought you into existence.
White light envelops you like a soft cocoon.
You are safe here.
You are safe.
When you leave this space,
You'll be taking this light with you.
It will live within you for days and weeks,
And you'll be able to recharge every full moon.
The moonlight will give you the strength you need to face any challenge.
It will pour from your eyes until you see what needs to be done,
Turning problems into opportunities.
You've absorbed the quiet wisdom of the moon,
A wisdom that is 4000 billion years old.
Let this wisdom guide you and remind you you can always come back to this place where peace lives,
When it's in peace where you will find all the answers.
Let there be light,
Let there be peace,
Let there be joy.
Give yourself permission to dance with life.
Share the moonlight with the world.
