Welcome.

My name is Gayler.

I'm a yoga and meditation teacher based in Los Angeles.

Thank you for joining me for this fresh start morning meditation practice.

We're going to begin by finding a comfortable seat.

If you find your knees are higher than your hips,

It may be more comfortable for you to elevate the hips by sitting up on a folded towel or blanket.

Just beginning to get settled,

Starting to deepen the breath.

Just becoming conscious of the inhales and the exhales.

Letting the breath lift the chest,

Letting the breath expand the belly.

Make it three-dimensional so that you feel the ribs expanding not just in the front but also in the back.

Then keeping that deep conscious breathing going.

Take a moment to imagine today's sunrise,

Whether you saw it or not.

Feeling that sense of hope,

That sense of a new dawn that comes with the first light of the day.

I invite you to think about what energy you want to bring to your day today.

What energy do you want to share with others?

What energy do you want to share with the world?

Let's bring the poems together at heart center.

Thumbs to the sternum.

Take a moment to really think about that.

Maybe it's as simple as one word,

Maybe it's joy or compassion or patience or playfulness.

I just want you to separate the palms a little,

The fingertips still touching so you have a little space.

Your hands are at prayer at your heart,

But then you're making a little space as if you're holding something.

Just imagining that you're holding a little ball of that energy,

That energy that you want to bring,

That you want to carry into today.

Take one more deep breath here.

Returning the palms to wherever it's comfortable for you.

Maybe they're resting on your knees.

Remembering that every day is a new day.

Every moment is a new moment.

It is ours to create.

As you take another deep breath here,

Feeling the sense of joy and the sense of peace that comes with knowing that you're going to bring this energy to your day,

This energy that you've chosen.

Because throughout our day,

Throughout our lives,

There will be so many things that we did not choose.

There will be so many things that we did not expect,

That we don't think we want,

And we can't control those things.

But we can control how we react to them and how we carry ourselves,

And how we take care of ourselves.

You manifest your reality.

Let's take a few more deep breaths together.

Really embodying that energy.

Remembering that each day is a fresh start,

A clean slate.

Have a beautiful day filled with whatever energy you desire.

It's yours for the taking.
