Namaste.
Welcome.
My name is Amanda and I am so glad you're here practicing with me today.
Though this practice is for long COVID relief.
Please know that if you're suffering from any chronic health condition,
This practice can support your body in healing.
As someone who was once diagnosed with long COVID.
Chronic fatigue.
Dysautonomia,
And many other conditions.
I greatly empathize with those in a similar situation.
I know how debilitating it is.
And I want you to know that recovery is possible.
Even if it feels like an impossibility right now.
At my lowest point I was living in bed,
Requiring a cane or wheelchair for mobility.
If I could get myself into the shower.
It was a good day and a shower was the only thing I did that day.
Now it's hard to believe I used to live like that.
And the same can be true for you.
I know you feel awful.
I know you miss your life and freedoms.
I know you're frustrated and angry and you feel like a victim.
Whatever response you're having is normal and deserves to be acknowledged and felt.
However.
.
.
Staying in that space doesn't promote healing in the body.
While Yoga Nidra isn't the only practice that can help you recover,
I truly don't know how I would have recovered without it.
Yoga Nidra is the only practice of its kind,
In that it helps the mind and body enter the deepest states of rest.
And it's here that the nervous system finally lets go.
And relaxes.
It's here that your body begins to repair and heal.
We'll begin by laying the foundation for your practice.
By finding a comfortable position for your body.
Feeling cozy and warm sets the tone for your practice and is the first step in helping your nervous system to find calm.
Please give yourself as much time as you require right now.
And bring in whatever is needed.
For ultimate comfort.
This might be headphones for optimal listening.
An eye covering to remove unwanted light.
A bolster or pillows under your knees.
Head and neck for support.
And a blanket for warmth.
If you have a weighted blanket.
That's great.
And if not.
.
.
You could place a pillow over your abdomen for additional calming and grounding support.
You might even pause this recording.
Until you're completely settled and ready to begin.
When you're ready.
Close down your eyes.
Allow a deep,
Nourishing breath.
In through your nose.
And out through your mouth.
Your yoga nidra practice begins now.
Breathing in deeply through your nose.
And exhaling long and slow out your mouth.
Allow your awareness to fall onto your breath.
Breathing in deeply.
And exhaling long and slow.
On your next inhale.
Breathe in two sips of air through your nose.
Then exhale through a slightly opened mouth.
The physiological PSY.
Proven to help activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
Two sips of air in through your nose.
Then release through a slightly opened mouth.
Continue with this breathing pattern for the next few moments.
Two sips of air in through your nose.
Long exhale out your mouth.
You may return now to your natural breathing pattern.
Breathing in and out at your own natural pace.
Gentle breathing.
Could you feel the weight of your body on the surface beneath you?
Your body held and fully supported.
Let the support beneath you do all the work.
As you continue to settle into stillness.
Unclench your jaw.
Allow your tongue to relax.
Let your shoulders soften and fall.
Silently remind yourself that there's nowhere else you need to be.
There's nothing else you need to be doing.
You are in the right place,
Right now.
Give yourself permission to just be and relax.
Trust that your body knows how to heal.
We'll now welcome in your son Kalpa.
A deep intention felt within your heart.
If you don't have a Sankalpa that you're working with.
You might use the phrase.
I am strong and resilient,
And I trust in my body's ability to heal.
I am strong and resilient.
And I trust in my body's ability to heal.
Silently repeat this intention three times.
Each followed by a deep breath.
I am strong and resilient.
And I trust in my body's ability to heal.
You You may release that now.
Knowing that the seed will be planted once more before the end of the practice.
For now.
Could you invite your attention to follow my voice?
And allow your awareness to move seamlessly from one body part to the next.
Beginning with the crown of your head.
Crown of your head.
The space in between your eyebrows.
Right eyebrow.
Right ear.
Temple.
Sheek bone.
The right eye and eyelid.
Left eyebrow.
Love.
Ear.
Tempo.
Cheekbone.
Left eye and eyelid.
Down to the tip of your nose.
Upper left.

To the space in between each tone.
Sole and top of your foot.
All of your left foot.
And leg.
Awareness falling now onto the entire right side of your body.
From the crown of your head down to the tips of your toes on the right foot.
The entire right side body.
Could you slowly shift awareness to the left side body?
From head to.
.
.
Two toes.
All of your awareness.
On the left side of your body.
And now.
Allow your awareness to fall on your entire body.
Both sides simultaneously.
Right side and left side together.
All of your body.
Let your awareness now.
Fall to the darkness behind closed eyes.
And in the darkness.
Could you begin to visualize yourself in a space that you love?
A space where you feel safe.
Comfortable and at home.
This could be a favorite place in nature.
Somewhere in your home.
Or perhaps it's a made-up space.
Use the next few minutes.
To picture yourself in this space.
What are you surrounded by?
Are there any fragrances in the air?
Allow all your senses to immerse you within this space.
In this space,
You are healthy.
And living in vitality.
You are completely healed Note how good you feel.
How calm,
At ease,
And safe you are.
Still in this space.
Could you silently repeat the following affirmations?
Knowing that each one is rewiring your brain for health and healing.
Additionally,
With each affirming statement,
You are expanding safety in your nervous system.
It's only when the nervous system feels safe.
That the body can heal.
I am resilient,
And my body has the capacity to fully recover.
I am resilient.
And my body.
Has the capacity to fully recover.
I trust that my body wants to heal.
And knows how to heal.
I trust that my body knows how to heal and wants to heal.
I accept that healing requires time,
Patience,
And grace.
I accept that healing requires time,
Patience,
And grace.
I allow my body to heal at its own pace.
I allow my body to heal at its own pace.
It is safe for my body to heal and recover.
It is safe for my body to heal and recover.
Recovery is possible for me.
Recovery is possible for me.
I allow joy to become a part of my healing journey.
While accepting myself just as I am.
I allow joy.
To become a part of my healing journey.
While accepting myself just as I am.
I am resilient,
And my body has the capacity to fully recover.
I trust that my body wants to heal and knows how to heal.
I accept that healing requires time,
Patience,
And grace.
I allow my body to heal at its own pace.
It is safe for my body to heal and recover.
Recovery is possible for me.
I allow joy to become a part of my healing journey.
While accepting myself just as I am.
You may release the image of the space you're in.
Begin to feel the weight of your body supported on the surface beneath you.
Allow your awareness to fall onto your breath.
Your body effortlessly breathing in and breathing out.
Well now welcome back your sankalpa.
You may have used.
I am strong and resilient.
And I trust in my body's ability to heal.
Silently repeat your intention,
Planting its seed deep within you.
I am strong and resilient.
And I trust in my body's ability to heal.
As you release your sankalpa.
Could you begin to count each breath?
Beginning with MWAN.
And ending at 10.
On your next breath.
Inhale one.
Exhale,
One.
Inhale two.
Exhale too.
Continue until you reach the number 10.
You Release the count.
And allow three deep breaths.
Expanding your lungs as much as you can with each inhale.
Will now begin to slowly wake your body.
However,
If you'd prefer to linger in stillness for a while longer.
You could now press pause on this recording.
Or remove your headphones.
You might begin with soft,
Slow movement.
To your fingers and toes.
Your wrists and ankles.
Begin to allow in sounds other than my voice.
You might allow a deep stretch if your body desires.
Give yourself as much time as you require.
Before returning to a fully awakened state.
There's no rush.
No need to hurry.
Let your body simmer in all that you've just experienced with this practice.
If this Yoga Nidra has resonated with you,
You might include it in your healing journey.
By practicing it as many times as you'd like.
Know that the effects of Yoga Nidra are cumulative.
The more you practice,
The more you receive the healing benefits.
Again,
This has been Amanda.
Thank you so much for trusting me as your guide today.
A gentle reminder.
That it doesn't matter where you are right now.
You have the ability to overcome it.
