Maimonides in his guide for the perplexed wrote,

It was the result of God's wisdom that the Israelites were led about in the wilderness until they acquired courage.

When wandering in your own wilderness,

Just notice,

What is this unfamiliar,

Difficult,

Or barren place I find myself in?

By being with discomfort,

By accepting it for what it is,

And no more,

We find courage.

Rest your eyes,

Relaxing body and breath.

Take stock of where you may feel lost and in need of finding your bearings in your life.

Let this be your wilderness.

Breathing in,

Sit with the discomfort of your wilderness.

Notice it for what it is,

But not allowing it to take up more space than it deserves.

Breathing in,

I am on an unfamiliar path.

Breathing out,

I have courage in this new place.

So good! Ever since marrying a Jewish man I have been in the Jewish world and being introduced to the reality and concept of Cantor’s has been a beautiful discovery. I’m so happy to see a Cantor is on insight timer! It made my day!
