Welcome back.
Today we will be grounding ourselves,
Finding a comfortable position as we close the eyes or lower the gaze,
Tuning into the breath and allowing it to have a sink deeper into our seat of choice,
Feeling the rhythmic drum of the breath,
Allowing the body to become heavy,
Feeling the weight of the arms,
Feeling gravity pulling you closer to the center of the earth,
Feeling the contact that your body is making with your chair,
Feeling this heaviness like a weighted blanket,
Comforting,
Warm,
And we bring our attention to what's below our feet,
Below our seat,
And this could be different depending on where you are on this earth,
Just taking it layer by layer,
Feeling into the floor,
Whether it's carpeted,
Tile,
Hardwood,
Looking below that,
Into the beams and the structure of this house building you're in,
And below that could be another room,
Another space,
A basement,
Could be the foundation,
The heavy cement,
Just going through each layer that is below you until you're connected with the earth,
Imagining what the earth feels like if you were to hold it in your hands,
The color,
The coolness,
The texture,
The smell,
You can imagine roots growing from your feet or your tailbone that reaches all the way down into the earth,
Into the soil,
Grounding you like you are a tree,
And going back,
Back before there was this building,
This house,
This city and town,
Back when it was just earth,
Imagining the nature becoming wild,
You can imagine yourself as that tree that you have planted,
Seeing all of the wildlife that crosses your path,
Witnessing the weather that comes through your area,
Feeling the rain,
Wind,
Snow,
The sunshine,
The dawn,
And dusk,
Appreciating all the seasons that happen,
And all the beauty that comes from each one,
And remembering that we humans are also part of this earth,
Depending on where you are,
You can imagine the first people that settled on this land,
Using the earth as a resource,
You may know the history of the land you sit on,
And it's okay if you don't,
Just fast-forwarding from the first people into where we sit now,
All that has changed,
The pleasant,
The unpleasant,
You can imagine sticking your hands into the soil,
You are one with this earth,
This is your home,
Look at all of her beauty,
Enjoy the little moments,
And know that we are all connected,
As we share this home on earth,
Sending love and kindness to our home,
To the earth,
May you be free that I have for you,
Thank you for being my home,
I love you.
