When we feel anxious, we can get stuck in a loop of thinking. This energy can be trapped in our bodies. It is helpful to use our body to process that energy so it moves through. This is a short practice that offers support and a reminder to move out that energy.

Hi,

This is Danielle and I have a sound bite for you called Letting Go and Shake Off Those Thoughts.

So what we're gonna do is we are going to do this when we feel anxious or we feel those negative thoughts come in because no matter how hard you try,

When you try to meditate when you're anxious or you're caught in that mental loop,

It's just not going to work.

So let's get some of the tension out of our body.

We're gonna take three deep breaths and then we're going to change our body position.

So gently shake your body.

Start with your hands,

Your arms,

Your shoulders.

Then maybe move to your hips and do some hip circles.

Go one way and then the other.

Shake your legs,

Your feet,

Shake your head,

Whatever you can to shake to release any tension that may be stored up in your body.

And then as you're going through each shaking movement,

Repeat to yourself,

I'm letting go.

I'm letting go of these thoughts.

I'm willing to release these thoughts.

I'm letting go.

I'm letting go of these thoughts.

I'm willing to release these thoughts.

And then just imagine those thoughts falling off your body while you're shaking and keep repeating until you have shifted your thoughts.

I'm letting go.

I'm letting go of these thoughts.

I'm willing to release these thoughts.

And one thing I've learned is that sometimes if you sing,

It actually helps you get out of that mood quicker.

Make it big.

Sing it.

Speak it.

Shout it.

I'm letting go.

I'm letting go of these thoughts.

I'm willing to release these thoughts.

And you will.
