Welcome to the Grounded Sleep Podcast! In this meditation, I will make sure that you experience calm sleep, night after night. Meditation is moving from being unconscious to conscious, but as we go to sleep we're going unconscious in a conscious way with intention with clarity, and with ease. A calm sleep meditation will require you to clear your mind and focus your attention on your breath.

Hey there,

Friend.

Welcome back to the Grounded Sleep Podcast.

I'm David.

And tonight,

I'm going to read you some lullaby stories.

And whether you're 5,

6,

Or 7 years old,

40,

50,

60,

Or 70 years old,

I hope you enjoy these lullabies,

And they put you to sleep in a really calm,

Comfortable way.

So before we start,

Make sure you got your PJs on and your teeth are brushed,

The lights are off,

And you're in bed under the blanket,

And you're nice and cozy.

I traveled to the country of Denmark once.

Everyone kept using the word cozy.

For them,

It meant charming,

Sweet,

Comfortable.

I hope your room is all of those things as you go to sleep tonight.

So close your eyes and say goodbye to the day.

And together tonight,

We can cross that invisible line from being awake to being asleep.

We could do it nice and gently by letting go of the day and drifting off into sleep.

Take a few deep breaths.

Relax all the muscles in your body.

And let yourself let go into the night.

And the first lullaby we're going to read tonight is one you probably have heard of.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,

How I wonder what you are,

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky.

When the blazing sun is gone,

When nothing shines upon,

Then you show your little light twinkle twinkle all the night.

When the traveler in the dark thanks you for your tiny spark,

How could he see where to go if he did not twinkle so?

In the dark blue sky you keep,

Often through my curtain's peep,

For you never shut your eye till the sun is in the sky.

These your bright and tiny spark lights the traveler in the dark,

Though I know not what you are.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

And the next one I'd like to read you is called the Dream Ship.

When the world is fast asleep,

Along the midnight skies,

As though it were a wandering cloud,

The ghostly Dream Ship flies.

An angel stands at the Dream Ship's helm,

An angel stands at the prow,

And an angel stands at the Dream Ship's side,

With a rue wreath on her brow.

The other angels,

Silver-crowned,

Pilot and helmsman are,

And the angel with the wreath of rue tosses the dreams afar.

The dreams they fall on rich and poor,

They fall on young and old.

And some are dreams of poverty,

And some are dreams of gold.

And some are dreams that thrill with joy,

And some that melt to tears.

And some are dreams of the dawn of love,

And some of the old dead years.

On rich and poor alike they fall,

Alike on young and old,

Bringing to slumbering earth their joys and sorrows manifold.

The friendless youth in them shall do the deeds of mighty men,

And drooping age shall feel the grace of buoyant youth again.

The king shall be a beggar-man,

The pauper be a king,

And that revenge or recompense the Dream Ship dreams to bring.

So ever downward float the dreams that are for all and me,

And there is never a mortal man that can solve that mystery.

But ever onward in its course along the haunted skies,

As though it were a cloud astray,

The ghostly Dream Ship flies.

Two angels with their silver crowns,

Pilot and helmsman are,

And an angel with the wreath of rue tosses the dreams afar.

And I'd like to read one more poem,

And this one is called The Pleasant Dark by Annette Wynn.

The pleasant dark that comes at night is just as friendly as the light.

Dark wraps a curtain over all,

The trees,

The houses,

Far and tall.

The pleasant dark comes down to bless the world with mother tenderness.

She folds her children in her arms and keeps them safe from loud alarms.

The far green hills where children play are hidden till the brand new day.

For hills and eyelids know what's best.

The darkness time is time for rest.

The pleasant dark that comes at night is just as friendly as the light.

I hope you have a very pleasant and peaceful sleep tonight as you drift off into your dreams.

Let yourself have a very deep rest.

And I will see you on the other side.

Good night.
