Lesson 2
Pema Chödrön On Facing What Won’t go Away
In our second session, we focus on energetic themes that seem to reveal themselves again and again in our lives. This is the practice of noticing what won’t go away, as the Buddhist monk Pema Chödrön would put it. We begin by meditating with this energy, and understanding the lessons it's trying to teach us. Once we stop resisting what is persisting in our awareness, we can then heal it, and move forward.

Lesson 3
The Dalai Lama On Being Present
We begin this session with the wise words of one of the world’s great teachers of compassion, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. We use his words to help put life into perspective, and learn a step by step meditation technique to call our energy back into the present moment so we can focus on what’s important. This allows us to have compassion for where we have been trying to run away.

Rumi On Healing Wounds
In this session the great 13th century Persian mystic and poet, Rumi, reminds us why we have wounds. We step deeply into a meditation to begin to heal a part of ourselves we have long ignored, forgotten, or have been stuck with. As we heal our wounds, we open our hearts to the deeper purpose of life.

Eckhart Tolle On Getting Through Suffering & Despair
As we find ourselves at the halfway point of this course, we sit with the wise words of a modern sage and meditation teacher, Eckhart Tolle. We use Eckhart’s teachings to help direct us into this moment, and learn to surrender to what is; transmuting pain into peace.

Thích Nhất Hạnh On Moving From Problems to Peace
In this session we sit with a beautiful poem by the Vietnamese monk and peace activist, Thích Nhất Hạnh. Throughout the meditation, we learn to bring acceptance into some of the calloused places in us, and recognize the importance and possibility of inner-peace.

Mother Teresa On Opening The Heart In The Face of Doubt & Darkness
In this session we learn what it means to open the heart and move through doubt from one of the great sages of the heart, 20th-century nun, Mother Teresa. As we explore what has kept our hearts closed, we learn to open them to love. Through this opening we truly get in touch with who we are.

Master Lao Tzu On Flow, Ease, and Acceptance
In this session we begin with the words of one of China’s greatest mystics, Lao Tzu. The author of the Tao Te Ching invites us to learn about effortlessness, presence, and letting go. We also take time at the end of the meditation to see if there is anywhere in our lives we could benefit from making more effort.

In this concluding session of Learning From The Masters, we review what we’ve learned, and step into the power and truth of our own inner-master. We recognize that at the end of the day every great teacher had to walk their own path, and find themselves, and we are no different. It’s time to step into our own enlightenment, and embrace whatever that looks like.
