Welcome to your October astrology overview.
We start out on October 3rd with Venus retrograde in Scorpio and then on October 10th the new moon is in Libra.
October 15th we have Pluto stationing direct in the sign of Aquarius.
On October 25th there is retrograde Venus entering Libra and then on October 26th we end the month with a full moon in Taurus.
So I thought we would do something a bit different this month as well.
And I would like to spend some time speaking about Inanna's path.
From descent and return and what that looks like through the lens of the October sky,
Although it could really be used at any time that we're talking about a rebirth.
So October unfolds like a myth and not a gentle one.
It is a myth of truth,
Courage,
And the sacred stripping away that makes embodiment possible.
This month the heavens echo the ancient descent and story or journey of anana the queen of heaven and earth.
Whose descent into the underworld mirrors the astrology of Venus retrograde.
Pluto's station and the lunar rhythms that are shaping our inner worlds this month.
October invites you into your own underworld passage and guides you out again on the other side,
Reborn,
Embodied,
And undeniable.
Welcome to the season of sacred distance.
Let's talk a bit about the descent.
Inanna's descent begins with a choice.
She hears the call to go below,
To face what lies in the dark,
And instead of turning away from it,
She answers it.
At each gate,
There are seven gates,
She must provide an offering to proceed to the next.
At the first gate she removes her crown,
At the next an earring,
And so on and so forth,
Until she has passed through all seven gates,
Each threshold stripping away another layer of identity.
This is Venus retrograde in Scorpio,
As that transit opens the month and initiates our own descent.
Scorpio is the sign of shadow alchemy,
And it asks for honesty that burns through all illusion.
Venus,
Stripped of her forward motion,
Turns relational equilibrium inside out.
Here old hurts rise and hidden motives surface.
Patterns that were built on fear or avoidance begin to crack open.
You are asked to let go,
Not to lose yourself,
But to reach all the way down to the core of who you truly are.
As Inanna descends,
She is emptied.
She is there to meet her shadow's sister,
Ereshkigal,
The buried part of her that holds the truth she never wanted to claim.
For us,
This is the emotional intensity of the month.
It may show up as jealousy,
Insecurity,
Grief,
Those long-avoided truths finally coming to the light.
But they're not coming to the light to punish us or to get us stuck in cycles that we can't get out of.
They're coming as moments of revelation.
And this is where the new moon in Libra comes in and clarifies the gates where harmony has been false.
This is areas where you've given too much,
Where you've silenced your own needs for others.
Perhaps it's where the old relational architecture can no longer hold the new self that you're becoming.
Even the collective reflects this descent as Pluto,
The lord of transformation,
Completes its retrograde cycle.
The underworld you've been doing and working through since May is now reaching its final depth.
This reminds me of like digging a hole in the ground and getting to like that final dig where like you know that you're complete,
You've worked really hard,
You're sweating,
It's hot,
You're covered in the dirt and the soot of the earth,
And this is like the final oomph before you bring that last mound of dirt to the surface.
In the story of Inanna,
She meets Ariskagal in the moment where she is naked and bowed low.
She has nothing else to give but her full,
Whole self.
And that's what she does.
And Ariskagal,
Seeing her like this,
Slaps her thigh,
Bites her lip,
And laughs.
She then takes Inanna and hangs her upside down on a meat hook to rot.
She dies to the version of herself that was built on titles,
Compromises,
Expectations,
And inherited identities.
This is the Inanna that can no longer move forward if she wants to rise into the new version.
That part has to fully die.
She hangs there for three days.
This is like your Tower moment.
The one October is delivering completely unapologetically.
It is here that on the myth of Inanna.
Where it doesn't end.
Because transformation never ends in the dark.
It ends in rebirth.
Which brings us to part two of the story,
The return and the embodiment.
Inanna doesn't remain in the underworld.
After three days,
She's rescued and she rises.
But she doesn't rise as the woman she was before.
But as the one she has reclaimed through truth.
Her ascent was always written in the stars,
And she knew that.
Before she went down into the underworld,
She made these two beings.
And she told them,
If I do not return in this amount of time,
Come find me.
So she didn't blindly descend into the underworld.
Somewhere along the way,
She knew what was going to happen and she put in place safeguards to come for her,
To protect her,
To allow for the rebirth to occur.
The October sky mirrors this return through the second half.
When Pluto stations right in Aquarius,
That descent gives way to movement.
Transformation becomes action.
The inner work of the past month crystallizes into outward shifts.
Those could be in relationships,
In purpose,
In structures that hold your life together.
This is the moment where clarity now becomes embodied.
Then Venus retrograde enters the sign of Libra,
Bringing about balance,
Justice,
And sacred reciprocity.
Where Scorpio stripped you bare.
Libra begins to rebuild from a place of truth and fairness.
Old patterns surface,
Not to trap you,
But to allow yourself to rewrite them,
To see how you were creating your storyline now,
Even in the past,
Just as Inanna created her beings to come save her.
You've done that too for yourself.
So within this,
You may see past partners reappear as teachers,
Believe it or not.
The question becomes,
What agreements honor who I am now and what dynamics reflect my worth?
And finally,
The journey ends as ananas in the body.
The full moon in Taurus grounds the entire process into our physical reality.
Taurus brings breath back into the chest,
Color into the cheek,
Then into the world.
Pleasure back to the Synthesis.
It reminds you that embodiment is not an idea,
But a lived experience.
I think of this moment as when Inanna comes off the hook and she's standing there and walks back up to the world,
To the upper world,
And she exhales and the sunlight hits her skin.
Blood rushes back to the surface.
The moon roots your rebirth.
It anchors your truth into your nervous system,
Your routines,
Your self-care,
Your choices,
All of it.
Inanna's journey ends with her restored throne,
But she does not rule from the identity that she once wore,
And neither do you.
She rules from truth of who she became through the descent.
October is your mythic turning point,
The collapsing tower,
The underworld passage,
The rising,
And finally the grounding of your new self into the world that you've been building all along.
This month is here to teach you that you are not reborn.
When you're ready to be reborn.
You are reborn not when the world sees your transformation,
But when you truly embody it.
And I think that's the part we miss so often.
You have to embody your transformation.
And October is your time to do so.
As you move ahead,
This month is going to be a sacred undoing where your inner architecture of becoming is literally rebuilt.
This is not a theoretical shift.
It is physical,
Emotional,
And relational.
Restructuring happens on the inside so that the embodiment that occurs shows through on the outside.
That's a lot of work that you will be doing this month.
And as you are being asked to move from inner excavation to external transformation,
And you're confronting a lot of buried emotions and unspoken truths,
It is very important that you slow down and ground yourself.
So you may be extra sensitive emotionally.
That's okay.
But what you need to do to make sure that you're able to hold space for yourself and others in this moment is to take time to truly nourish yourself.
Hold yourself as you do this emotional transformative work.
Take walks in nature.
Take baths.
Sit in silence.
Listen to music that nourishes your soul.
Spend time with people that light you up from the inside out,
That are moving towards your collective future of what you look for,
What you want to cultivate in your life.
Just do the things that you need for you.
And the more that you tune into your own self and your own needs,
The more you'll be able to show up with others.
So often we forget that there are people in our lives that are going through this experience with us.
And we can get really caught up on all the parts of that that pertain to us and miss them in the process.
So during this time,
Show up for yourself,
Move in the way that you need for your soul,
But also do so also do so thinking of the others that are on the path with you.
October is truly tower energy,
And I think if I was going to assign any tarot card to the month,
It would be the tower,
Which has come up quite a lot over the past few months.
It is the breaking open,
The breaking open,
The restructuring,
The truth that can't be avoided.
But more than that,
It is the liberation that comes.
When the old structure finally falls away.
Allow the tower to fall,
For in the rubble is where you are reborn.
I do want to give a couple journal props for the month for the new moon and the full moon here.
So the new moon in Libra is about rebalancing after the fall.
This is where you restore your equilibrium through honest communication.
Where you create those new relational agreements based on mutual respect.
And that's where the other people in your life come into play.
This mood resets those emotional scales and asks you to name your own emotional needs.
You will have to create boundaries in your relationships to honor your new self.
And this is a recalibration of the relationships.
With yourself and with others.
So a journal prompt is where is imbalance draining my energy and what truth will restore harmony?
And then the full moon in Taurus is embodiment of the new self.
So here is where you ground your energy back into the body.
You stabilize your growth through simplicity,
Ritual,
And sensory nourishment.
It is where the moon pulls you back into your body as it asks for comfort,
Slowness,
Ritual,
And the truth that sustains you.
So the journal prompt is,
What does stability feel like in my body and how can I cultivate more of it?
And then one final journal prompt for the month.
What truth has emerged from my descent and how am I ready to embody it in the way I live,
Love,
And move?
I hope that your October is filled with so much descent and ascent that you feel balance in what you're releasing and what you're calling in and that you're able to move forward with clarity for the next part of your becoming and as you embody this new self that you've invited in and that you're ready for.
Thank you so so much for joining.
Blessed Be.
Blessed Be.
Blessed Be.
