Hi,
I'm Kim Pasch.
Welcome to Three Landscapes of Mind.
We'll move through three natural landscapes to explore emotional mind,
Reasonable mind,
And wise mind,
Using the body as a guide for noticing where each state shows up.
Begin by finding a comfortable position for you,
Taking a moment to fidget,
Move,
And get comfortable,
Allowing your body to settle just 10% more into your space.
For the first minute,
We'll use a gentle modified breath of joy.
Begin by taking three smaller,
Comfortable inhales in through the nose.
And then one relaxed exhale out the mouth.
Continuing three small,
Comfortable inhales.
And one relaxed exhale through the mouth.
Take about 5 more rounds on your own.
Keep the movement subtle and stop if you feel lightheaded at all.
You can just simply breathe slowly and naturally.
Perhaps two more rounds.
At the bottom of your exhale,
Allow yourself to settle just 1% more now.
Releasing any breathing technique.
And now I invite you to imagine three landscapes.
The first is a lively forest,
Full of movement,
Sound,
Color,
And instinct.
This is emotion mind.
Notice what emotion mind feels like in your body.
Is their energy.
Urgency.
Let yourself observe without judgment.
Now imagine a wide meadow.
Open,
Clear,
And spacious.
This is Reasonable Mind.
The part of you that gathers information,
Analyzes,
Plans,
And even considers consequences.
Notice what reasonable mind feels like in the body.
Perhaps it's stillness.
Distance,
Structure,
Or clarity.
And finally,
Imagine a mountain where the forest and the meadow meet.
Grounded and spacious.
This is WiseMind.
You might ask,
What does wise mind know that emotion mind and reasonable mind might be missing?
Notice what happens in your body as you ask,
What does wise mind know that emotion mind and reasonable mind might be missing?
You don't have to force an answer.
Perhaps just let it emerge.
And now we'll have the opportunity to silently repeat three rounds.
Feel.
Think.
Integrate.
Breathing in.
.
.
And I'll feel.
Integrate.
Breathing in.
And now,
Feel,
Think,
Integrate.
Last round,
Breathing in.
An owl.
Feel.
Think.
Integrate.
Taking one more slow breath in.
And exhale out.
Imagining all three landscapes existing together.
Knowing emotional mind belongs here.
Reasonable mind belongs here.
And wise mind can hold them both.
Taking one final breath in.
.
.
And then gently returning to the present moment.
