Welcome to your 20-minute sleep meditation.
Drifting into sleep,
Letting go like a boat on water.
Settling into a comfortable position,
Allowing your body to be fully supported.
Taking a slow breath in and a long slow breath out.
Imagine that you are resting beside a calm body of water.
The surface is still,
Quiet and peaceful.
The air is gentle.
Beside you is a small wooden boat.
This boat is here to carry anything you no longer need to hold tonight.
Begin by noticing what might be weighing on you.
Thoughts,
Worries,
Fears.
One by one,
Gently place each concern into the boat.
Any uncertainty or fears or worries,
Placing them into the boat.
No need to analyze it or judge it,
Just placing it into the boat.
And when another thought arises,
Place it into the boat.
And another,
And another.
Take your time,
The boat can hold it all.
When you're ready,
Gently push the boat into the water.
Watch as it begins to drift away.
Slowly,
Effortlessly.
Carrying everything you placed inside.
Notice how the water remains calm.
Even as the boat moves further away,
The surface returns to stillness.
Your mind can be like this water.
Thoughts may come and go,
But calm is always available with each breath.
If more thoughts arise,
Place them in another boat,
Letting them drift away.
You are not your thoughts,
You are the awareness beneath them.
Resting beside the water,
Nothing to carry,
Nothing to solve.
Just this quiet moment.
Feel your body supported,
Grounded,
Breathing naturally.
Letting yourself drift into deep,
Deep rest,
Into sleep.
