Welcome to the dawn of a new day.
Slowly awaken.
You might be lying in bed or you might be sitting up in a chair or on a cushion and we're just going to take some time to ourselves to slowly focus on relaxing each and every part of our body one by one.
Let's start with a nice slow deep breath in holding and releasing.
Another breath in holding and releasing.
One more breath in holding and release.
Close your eyes and start to notice the breath,
The cool air coming in and the warm air flowing out.
Starting with our feet,
Take notice of each and every toe on your foot.
See if you can feel them all separately.
Begin to relax the small toes,
Letting go of any tension.
Continue with the rest of the toes one by one,
Completely relaxing.
Relaxing the arch of the foot,
The ankle,
Moving to the top of the foot,
Releasing any tightness in the muscles,
Moving up to the calf muscle,
Slowly releasing any tension in the legs up to the kneecaps,
Releasing all tightness,
Letting the legs feel heavy,
Moving up to the thighs,
Relaxing both legs completely,
Relaxing the hips,
The pelvis,
Glutes,
All muscles dissolving,
Melting,
Moving up to the abdomen,
Letting go of any clenching or tightness of the stomach and allowing air to easily flow in and around the belly and back out effortlessly,
Moving to the lower back,
Releasing all the muscles at the base of the spine,
Moving up vertebrae by vertebrae,
Up the back,
Releasing each and every muscle as you scan up to the shoulders,
Focusing on the chest muscles,
Releasing any tension,
Moving next to the top of the shoulders,
Really focus on releasing them fully,
Letting them sink into the earth,
Allowing gravity to pull them down,
The shoulders are heavy and relaxed,
Moving down the arms,
The elbows,
Releasing any tension in the forearm,
Wrist and each finger,
Letting each one completely dissolve,
Now let's focus on the base of the neck,
Allowing the neck muscles to let go,
To release and to melt,
Moving to the base of the skull,
Releasing any tension in the joint,
Behind the ears,
All the way to the top until you reach your forehead,
Imagine a warm cloth draped across your forehead and eyes,
Just allowing the muscles to melt and release,
Letting go of any tension in the eye sockets,
Under the eyes,
The cheeks,
The temples,
Letting your tongue rest at the bottom of your mouth and finally releasing your jaw,
Just letting go of any tension,
We're leaving it behind,
Invite gratitude in,
Savouring this moment,
Taking time to nourish your body and your mind,
Focusing back on the breath,
Taking a deep breath in through the nose,
Feeling your lungs and your belly,
Holding it and releasing.
