Your system learned to stay ready,

To hold itself together,

To remain available.

This moment is not asking for that.

Notice where you're still bracing,

Where effort continues out of habit rather than necessity.

Rest does not require permission,

It does not require completion,

It does not require explanation.

It begins with allowing this moment to be as it is.

You don't need to resolve anything,

You don't need to make sense of what you feel,

You don't need to reach calm,

Just recognize nothing needs to be held together right now.

Notice what happens when effort softens slightly,

When vigilance loosens,

When your system realizes it can settle without consequence.

Rest doesn't mean disengaging,

It means arriving without defense.

Some days this will feel comforting,

Other days neutral and quiet.

Both are expressions of rest.

You are allowed to rest inside this moment,

Without earning it,

Without preparing for what comes next,

And letting that be true is enough.
