Hello,
My name is Mel.
I welcome you to find any comfortable position,
Seated,
Laying or standing that you would like to chant in.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Grow long through the spine.
Reaching through the crown of the head.
Take three deep cleansing breaths here.
Inhaling through the nose.
And sighing it out through the mouth.
Allow the breath to return to its natural state.
It's said that the vibrations of chanting mantras can direct their healing properties to the brain and body of the pronouncer and on to anything the pronouncer directs it.
So I share with you these Vedic chants that I was taught at yoga training in the spirit for which they are intended.
I like to chant in the morning as a way to warm up my voice,
Improve lung capacity and steady the mind for the day ahead.
However,
You can chant or listen to them at any time.
We begin with three ohms.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooo OM MAHA GANAPATAYI NAMAHA OM MADITYAYANAMAHA OM MAM BIKAYI NAMAHA Aum Vishnave Namaha.
OM MAHE SHVARAYA NAMAH Aum Sarve Myo Gurubhyo Namaha OM SARVEBYO RISHIBYO NAMAHA Aum Sarve Bhyo Devata Abhyo Namaha.
Om Yogena Chittasyapadena Vacham Mallam Shri Rasyachavidvikina Yo Pah Karotam brahmaninam.

Allow any thoughts that may pop up to float by just like on a cloud.
Observing each one.
Without attaching yourself to them.
And become aware of the breath.
The expansion of each inhale.
And the softening of the belly and the chest with each exhale.
Notice the sounds around you within the space you are practicing.
And sounds that are far beyond where you are now.
Sounds outside.
Sounds in the distance.
Just notice each one,
Allowing it to pass by your ears.
When you're ready.
Drawing the hands together at heart center.
Bowing the head towards the heart.
So the wisdom of your mind can meet the wisdom of your heart.
So the two can work together to live your best life.
I hope this practice nourishes you,
Inspires you and reminds you of your spirit,
Who you are beyond this body.
Namaste.
