Find your usual meditation posture,
Either sitting in a chair or lying down.
You're relaxed,
But you're focused and alert.
Hands can be gently placed on top of the legs or next to the legs.
Softly close the eyes.
Imagine a stream in front of you.
Moving,
Clear,
Clean water.
It's a small but beautiful stream with enough space for someone to potentially swim in it.
Can you hear the trickling of the water?
This stream in front of you.
Nobody is around.
You're in the middle of the most pristine forest.
It's a warm day.
These roles,
These obligations,
These stories,
These expectations that you have been wearing like clothes.
You can remove those clothes now,
Figuratively speaking.
And you are going to walk towards this stream.
Your clothes,
Your social obligations,
Pressures are behind you,
Waiting for you later.
And you approach the water and enter it.
Feel the water moving over your entire body.
Washing away any debris of responsibility.
Pressure.
Expectation.
Hear the water moving past your ears.
As it cleanses you.
Relieves you.
Every cell of your body is bathed in pure,
Clean water.
And it feels amazing.
Breathe here for a moment.
And in your mind,
Just say to this water.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I'm so grateful.
I'm so grateful.
You move out of the water.
And you dry off.
And your clothes are there,
Neatly folded.
The fresh air has moved over your clothes.
And they're clean.
And you put these clothes back on.
Even though you have to wear these clothes,
These obligations,
These duties,
These roles.
You'll continue your day knowing that underneath the clothes,
You are there.
Underneath the clothes,
The real you is present.
And you can come back to this river whenever you want.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes gently.
And that concludes today's meditation.
