This ADHD / ADD poem was written in the aftermath of judgment, after being told I was too sensitive, too airy-fairy, and overreacting. Words that cut deep, leaving me feeling misunderstood, unheard, and judged. This piece is ADHD poetry for anyone who has felt the sting of judgment, the ache of being dismissed, or the shame of being told they’re “too much.” It’s neurodiversity poetry for those who carry sensitivity as both a wound and a gift. For every ADHD and ADD soul who has ever been silenced or shamed for feeling deeply, this poem is for you. A reminder that sensitivity is not weakness; it is part of your truth, your depth, your strength.

Welcome,

This poem is about people who judge us.

If they want to judge,

Let them.

If they want to name call,

Let them.

If they want to be sarcastic,

Let them.

If they want to blame you,

Let them.

If they want to mock you,

Let them.

But don't listen to them.

Let their words be the noise you choose to ignore.

If they can't see your kindness,

I can.

If they can't see your pain,

I can.

If they can't see your needs,

I can.

And if they don't believe in you,

I do.
