Do you ever feel like the odd one out?

This joyful meditation celebrates your uniqueness and invites you to embrace your quirks with self-compassion.

It's guided by the playful image of a purple cow in a field of black and white and you'll be reminded that being different isn't something that needs to be fixed,

It's something to treasure.

I'd love for you to join me now.

This meditation is a little different,

Just like you.

It's not about doing it perfectly,

It's about being perfectly,

Beautifully you.

So let's begin.

Allow the eyes to gently close and take a breath in and a long slow breath out.

Again,

Inhale deeply and gently exhale.

Allow your shoulders to soften and your face relax.

If you like,

You can place your hand at your heart center at the center of the chest and maybe even let a tiny smile appear.

This smile says to you,

I don't have to try so hard right now.

Allow your whole body to soften and sink,

To let go into this moment.

And imagine yourself standing in a wide open meadow.

Perhaps it's a place you've been to before.

You don't necessarily have to see it,

You can just know you're there.

The sun is warm and the sky is blue.

The air feels so fresh upon your skin and the temperature is just perfect for you.

And there in the middle of the field is a purple cow,

A real purple cow.

It's radiant and they're not trying to blend in.

They're not following the herd.

They're just being,

Wandering,

Maybe even doing a little dance.

And somehow you feel better just by watching her.

She reminds you,

You don't have to be what people expect.

You get to be you,

Different,

Quirky,

Sensitive,

Loud,

Quiet.

Whatever you are is welcome here.

Take a breath in and out.

Don't worry if your mind travels off into thought.

When it does,

Just follow back to my voice when you're aware.

And now softly in your mind,

Or out loud if you choose,

Repeat,

I am allowed to be different.

I am allowed to be different.

And I can be myself here.

I can be myself here.

I am allowed to take up space in this field.

I am allowed to take up space in this field.

And being me is more than enough.

Being me is more than enough.

Embracing those affirmations.

And imagine now the purple cow walking toward you,

Calm,

Kind,

And content.

They don't want to change you.

They just want to be beside you.

As if they are saying,

Let's just be here together.

Let's be our lovely,

Odd selves.

And somehow you feel less alone.

You feel seen.

And maybe,

Just maybe,

You're starting to like the idea of being a purple cow after all.

Let's take three final breaths together.

Inhale deeply.

And exhale slowly.

Inhale deeply.

And exhale with softness.

And last conscious breath in.

And exhale,

Letting everything settle.

And now,

Before we close,

I'll leave you with a short snippet from a poem of mine called Standing Prone.

It's for the purple cows,

The gentle rebels,

And the ones who felt different.

To those who feel misplaced,

Alone,

And want to hide.

To those who feel different,

Who struggle,

And cry.

Let's accept ourselves.

Let go of the shame.

Today,

We will stand prone.

Acceptance and love is the way.

I'd like you to take this with you.

The world doesn't need more copies.

It needs purple.

Your special purple.

Your joy.

Your spark.

So go out there and be your weird,

Wonderful self.

Your unforgettable,

In the best possible way.

Thank you so much for being here with me.

See you again.
