My name is Sandhya and this short anxiety SOS meditation is designed for moments when stress feels intense and you need something to help you and your nervous system settle.
Right now,
Wherever you are,
Be with me,
Be with the breath and take a slow inhale and a gentle exhale.
And again in and out.
And continue with that deeper breath.
Place your hand at your heart center,
At the center of the chest.
With each and every breath in,
Smiling.
And imagine there's a soft white light here,
About the size of a marble.
This calm,
Steady and safe light grows slightly brighter.
And each breath out,
You might notice tension softening,
Even if only by 1%.
If anxiety feels loud or fast,
There's no need to push it away.
Allow the light to exist alongside it.
And with each deep breath that you take,
The light expands.
It's now a small sphere.
Anxiety might begin to dissolve like a mist in sunlight.
With each and every breath,
Softening.
And quietly inside,
You might say,
In this moment,
I am safe.
In this moment,
I am safe.
And if thoughts rush in,
Let them be like notifications you don't need to open right now.
Return to my words.
As the light continues to expand,
Filling the whole of the chest and traveling out through the whole of the body.
Dissolving any stress,
Any tension.
Softening the mind.
Softening the body.
Take one final deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Gently opening your eyes,
Carrying this calmness with you throughout your day.
