Hello,
I'm Sandhya.
This is a short talk about the sympathetic nervous system,
Which is your body's fight,
Flight,
Freeze,
Or fawn system.
It's designed to help you respond to danger or challenges.
When it's activated,
Your heart might feel like it's beating faster,
Your muscles tighten,
And your senses sharpen.
It's like your body is gearing up to protect you.
And while this is useful in emergencies,
Chronic activation of the sympathetic nervous system can increase stress,
Worry,
And overstimulation,
Which can leave you feeling anxious,
Restless,
Or on edge.
There are ways to notice and gently regulate your sympathetic nervous system.
One great way is taking some deep,
Slow,
Steady breaths.
It might be to ground your body through a body scan.
Sometimes you can use something called NSDR,
Which includes a body scan,
Or Yoga Nidra,
And I have many of these tracks if you want to check them out.
Or sometimes small somatic movements,
Such as EFT tapping,
Or stroking up and down the arm.
These can help to signal to your nervous system that it's safe to return to balance.
And over time,
Practicing these small resets can help you stay within your window of tolerance.
This is a place where you feel calmer and respond more intentionally rather than reactively to life.
Thank you so much for listening.
I hope this has been informative for you.
