Welcome to your meditation practice,
Taking a moment to go within,
Setting the intention for our day,
And clearing away any unwanted energy.
Find yourself a comfortable seat,
Relaxing the body and the mind,
And closing your eyes and just sitting with your breath.
Give yourself permission to let go.
We take a moment to breathe deeply,
Taking three deep cleansing breaths.
Letting go of any stress,
Any anxiety,
Any negativity,
Letting any angst go,
We focus our energy today on the topic of letting go of attachment.
Attachment keeps us in resistance,
And what we resist becomes a greater experience in our lives.
Attachments keep us from experiencing the present moment,
As we are always seeking more somewhere else in order for us to feel safe and secure.
So for this moment,
Breathe in the knowing and the possibility that you are safe and secure right here,
Right now.
Without needing to get or be anywhere else.
Bring into your mind someone you have a hard time letting go of,
Or someone it is difficult to let them be who they are.
Perhaps you have an attachment to their actions and how they respond,
Or a story about how they must act.
Once you have that in your mind's eye,
I want you to imagine setting them aside for a moment,
Outside of your energetic field,
And bring your attention to your heart.
Place your hands over your heart,
And now breathe.
Imagine that there is an energy of you,
Of light,
Of love,
That radiates all around you,
Not letting in anything other than your own energy,
Your own love,
Your own joy,
Your own peace.
Imagine how far out the field might go.
Maybe it's a few feet outwards,
Or maybe it's a bubble,
Or beyond.
And now once you can see where that edge of your energetic vortex ends,
I want you to imagine that energy now focused only on you,
Bringing all of that energy back to yourself,
Pouring it into you.
You see,
You are a separate being from this person and their experience.
Your feelings and your emotions absolutely matter,
And yet you are not your emotions.
It is okay to have an attachment.
Just notice how much energy it takes from you as you keep focusing on the thing you have,
The thing you have to have to be happy.
Your happiness and your worthiness are not dependent on your attachment to having the outcome you seek.
Breathe that in for a moment.
For just a moment,
Imagine how it might feel if you were to let go of your need and attachment to someone or something.
What is that feeling?
Is it freedom?
Liberation?
Peace?
All that power given to it,
Bring it back to yourself.
You have the power within you.
It is not outside of you.
So now take a few moments to bask in this and let yourself sink into the silence.
If thoughts come to you,
Just let them pass by and remember your breath.
