A Poem For Those Find It Hard To Let Go
by Jacky Power
In this piece, I explore how our possessions are rarely just "things" - they're emotional anchors, memory vessels, and psychological lifelines for many people. Each stanza reveals a different layer of attachment: papers becoming telescopes to past significance, broken objects preserving precious connections, trinkets housing tangible memories, and books offering direction amid uncertainty. The final revelation speaks to the true vulnerability beneath accumulation. What appears as disorder often masks deeper fears of loss, invisibility, or being unmoored from one's identity and history.
