Welcome back.

My name is Samantha Linden,

Also known as the Blissful Soul.

This is our series,

Happy Hormones,

A 30-day gut reset for women.

If you haven't started from day one yet,

I highly recommend doing so to maximize your success and understanding.

On days four to six of our discussions,

We explored the topic of estrogen.

Today,

I'd like to revisit this subject as it's essential to understand how estrogen imbalances affect us.

If you suspect an imbalance,

Feel free to refer back to those earlier discussions.

You can find them on my playlist in my bio.

Recall how we discussed the first 10 days of our cycle,

A pivotal period.

We tend to experience heightened creativity,

Focus,

And motivation during this time.

We're right in a wave of energy and can conquer any challenge.

This is because estrogen levels are at their peak,

Giving us the drive and determination to achieve our goals.

However,

Things can change,

Especially after menopause.

When estrogen levels decline,

It can significantly impact us.

If you're experiencing difficulty finding the right words or maintaining focus,

This could be why.

Estrogen supports our communication and multitasking abilities and boosts serotonin levels,

Elevating our mood and overall well-being.

When it's in balance,

Everything runs smoothly.

However,

When estrogen levels drop,

Cognitive functions can suffer,

Leading to memory lapses and concentration issues.

This hormonal shift can also contribute to mood swings,

Sadness,

And anxiety.

Additional symptoms of low estrogen include dry skin,

Mood changes,

Frequent headaches,

Hot flashes,

And a heightened susceptibility to depression.

Hot flashes occur when estrogen levels dip,

Prompting the hypothalamus to increase your body temperature.

This sudden rise can trigger flushing,

Sweating,

A rapid heartbeat,

And discomfort.

These are all telltale signs of low estrogen.

On the flip side,

It's also possible to have too much estrogen due to exposure to toxins found in air fresheners,

Perfumes,

Cleaning products,

Or makeup.

If you suspect this may be the case,

Consider evaluating these areas to determine if they affect you.

Excessive exposure to such toxins can disrupt your hormonal balance and lead to various health issues.

Imagine our bodies like a bucket with a steady stream of water flowing into it.

When the bucket becomes overloaded,

It overflows and causes a mess.

Our bodies attempt to handle the influx of toxins,

But it can negatively impact our health if they become overwhelming.

Some individuals have larger buckets and can tolerate more toxins than others.

Consider removing plastics and nonstick cookware to improve your environment and minimize toxin exposure.

Instead,

Opt for glass storage containers and cast iron pans.

Additionally,

You can explore apps designed to help you find safer alternatives for cleaning supplies and beauty products.

I recognize that discarding everything at once is impractical,

But it's worth experimenting with healthier options.

Identify the products with the highest toxins that might affect you the most and gradually replace them with alternatives.

You may need to make these changes sooner if your symptoms are severe.

Tomorrow,

We'll delve into the role of progesterone,

Specifically during menopause.

Thank you for continuing this journey with me.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
