Hi!
Welcome to your sacred verse.
This poem explores the mind's habit of spinning fears and worst case scenarios.
When the negative mind goes a little bonkers.
And our fear thoughts haunt us.
Close your eyes.
Breathe gently and notice how fear transforms when it is seen with awareness.
And how presence restores clarity,
Peace,
And our senses of humor.
Why does my mind conjure so many negative thoughts?
Like worst case scenarios.
Events never sought.
Car crashes and death.
Heartbreaking situations.
Daydreaming's gone awry.
Thinking is contamination.
It's just when I sit and I bask in my silence that these thoughts they barge in and often with such violence.
Are my fears rising up to be seen and heard?
To acknowledge their presence before being burned into the fire of awareness?
They become ash.
Just a mind's delusion can be shifted in a dash.
These are not premonitions.
Not a glimpse of the future.
They're just fears in my heart.
They're not anything to nurture.
To know they are false is enough to diminish their power over me and the horror?
It's finished.
Oh mind,
You wacky thing.
Protecting me from possible loss.
Look at all the dangers,
It says.
I respond,
You are not my boss.
