Menopause,
Following your soul compass.
Have you ever wondered why so many women experience profound clarity about what they want in life during menopause?
Why do divorce rates increase during this period and why do women suddenly find their voices in ways they never had before?
Hi,
I'm Ana Barreto.
I'm an author,
A teacher,
And founder of the Body,
Mind,
And School for Women.
And today I want to tell you something that I know in my bones.
Menopause is not the end of your power.
It's the beginning of your unveiling.
So many women approach this phase with fear.
We've been told that it means decline,
Invisibility,
Or loss.
But in truth,
It's the opposite.
Menopause is a soul transition.
It is the moment when the hormonal veil lifts,
When you stop accommodating everyone else,
And you begin to hear the voice of your soul compass guiding you back to yourself.
What I've discovered through my work and research is that menopause isn't just a biological transition.
It's a soul transition.
This profound awakening calls us to find our authentic compass.
So today,
By the end of this talk,
You will understand why this phase of life isn't something to endure or minimize,
But rather the most powerful transformation you will ever experience.
You will discover how to navigate this transition with grace,
Purpose,
And excitement for what's ahead.
Most importantly,
You will learn to see this time not as an ending,
But as your magnificent beginning.
Here are three truths about this transformation.
1.
The hormonal veil is lifted.
When you are in your reproductive years,
Fluctuating hormones create a natural flexibility that makes you accommodate everyone and their sisters,
And roll with the punches.
During perimenopause and menopause,
This hormonal veil lifts,
And for perhaps the first time,
You start speaking your truth about your marriage,
Your work,
Your life,
Your happiness,
And what you will no longer tolerate.
2.
You are not broken.
You are evolving.
Society whispers that you are just getting old,
But this couldn't be further from the truth.
What looks like instability is actually your body and soul recalibrating.
The mood swings,
The intolerance for nonsense,
These aren't character floors.
Did you hear me?
3.
This is a biochemistry meeting your authentic self and your soul saying,
We had enough.
4.
This is your furnace of transformation.
This challenging period is actually the boiler that creates diamonds.
Did you hear me?
Diamonds!
5.
You are not losing yourself.
You are witnessing the unveiling of a masterpiece.
You are becoming wiser,
Clearer,
And unapologetically done with anything that doesn't serve your highest good.
There are 15 areas to explore.
Some books can tell you what you are feeling,
And the doctors can help you alleviate some of the symptoms.
However,
You cannot minimize your soul transition.
Here are 15 areas from my Soul Compass Journal that remind you what your soul is calling you to discover.
Okay,
Here is a reality check.
I need you to pause now and get pen and paper.
There are 15 different themes for you to explore,
And you're not going to remember them all.
One of the things that happens in menopause is that we can't recall everything like we did when we were in our 30s and 40s.
So,
Get your pen and paper and take notes.
1.
Clarity.
Clarity is so important.
It gets you clear about your next step.
This transition brings unprecedented clarity about what truly matters to you.
2.
Values.
Your values have changed.
Yes,
They have changed.
What mattered before may no longer align with who you are becoming.
3.
Purpose.
You may need to realign your purpose with your authentic self that is emerging.
4.
Decisions.
Decisions become an empowering way to walk confidentially into the next stage of living.
5.
Meaningful goals.
You remember the smart goals?
Smart goals were for the past.
Now,
It's time to find your spiritual goals that feed your soul.
So,
Ask yourself these five questions.
Are they intentional?
Do they awaken me?
Are they aligned?
Do they give me purpose?
Do they flow?
These are the criterias for meaningful goals.
6.
Confidence.
Trust in your newfound ability not to tolerate what doesn't serve you.
This is sacred confidence,
So use it.
7.
Integrity.
During menopause,
This may be the time when you are most aligned with who you truly are at your core.
Integrity is when your thoughts,
Words,
And actions are congruent.
8.
Self-care.
You can make self-care your legacy from now,
Showing others what it looks like to honor yourself.
9.
Relationships.
Relationships either nurture who you are becoming or deplete your resources.
During menopause,
Some will naturally fall away,
And that's okay.
10.
Boundaries.
This phase calls you to protect your peace and energy fiercely.
Your boundaries become sacred,
So honor them.
11.
Gratitude.
Gratitude is medicine.
Yes,
You heard me right.
Gratitude is medicine.
Be grateful for your old you while embracing who you are becoming.
12.
Resilience.
This is when your resilience reaches its highest point.
You have a proven track record of rising again and again,
So remember.
13.
Forgiveness.
This is the time to release past hurts because they were lessons that made you stronger and brought you to this moment of power.
14.
Radical self-acceptance.
Embrace every part of yourself,
The messy,
The beautiful,
The evolving.
This is where you stop apologizing for taking up space and start celebrating the magnificent complexity of who you are.
15.
Mindfulness.
Mindfulness brings you back to yourself and helps you stay present during this sacred transformation.
This is the most interesting chapter of your life.
And why?
Because they weave all of these elements together into a life that reflects your truest self.
Again,
This can be the most interesting,
Satisfying,
And rewarding time of your life.
You are not witnessing the end.
You are experiencing the most powerful love story yet,
The one between you and your authentic self.
So,
Take this pause and let your fingers do the talking on those 15 themes.
You can really follow your soul.
Menopause is not an ending.
It is a passage into authenticity,
Into wisdom,
Into unapologetic freedom.
Did you hear me?
Freedom!
If you can stay steady through this fire of transformation,
If you can embrace rather than resist this change,
If you can ignore the old tales about menopause our ancestors passed down to us,
You are not just going to get through this.
You are going to emerge reborn,
Wiser,
Clearer,
And unapologetically magnificent you.
The woman you are becoming has been waiting for her whole life to emerge.
Your soul compass is guiding you home to yourself.
So,
Trust it.
Follow that joy.
Embrace it.
Your masterpiece is being revealed and the world needs to see her in all her glory.
