Welcome to this healing inner child meditation.
This practice incorporates a loving kindness meditation where you will be encouraged to offer your current and younger self waves of love and compassion.
Find a comfortable seated position and take a moment to look around you at the room you're in.
Take a slow deep breath in make yourself ready to turn your attention inwards.
This might mean closing your eyes.
How does it feel to be you today?
What is the state of your mind like?
How does your heart feel?
Is it closed off?
Numb?
Or is it open and happy?
As you focus your attention deeper and deeper into your heart space let's take a moment to relax our mind and body.
Try to deepen your breath and gently relax starting from the top of your head,
Your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your mouth,
Your jaw,
Your throat,
Chest,
Stomach,
Arms,
Pelvis,
Legs,
Feet,
And toes.
Take a deep breath in.
Slowly begin picturing with your mind's eyes your younger self.
Imagine this child playing contently in a bit of sound.
Slowly approach your younger self and offer him or her a tender gesture of acknowledging their presence.
This might be gently touching your cheek or warmly hugging them.
And now I want you to sincerely repeat the following words as I say them.
And as you hold your younger self you whisper to them,
May you be happy.
May you be free of suffering.
May your dreams come true.
May you feel loved and worthy of love.
May you be able to love and may you be healthy.
And from this state of offering your younger self all these kind wishes take a moment to look into this child's eyes deeply and let them speak to you what you mostly longed for.
It may be warmth,
More acceptance,
More inclusion,
Whatever it is just listen.
Just listen.
When you're ready just imagine hugging yourself and offering yourself whatever this younger heart longed for.
Know that you're fully capable of giving this healing to your younger self because you are the only person to remain here for your younger self no matter what happened.
Recognize that and just open your heart and send what is needed.
Send that love that you needed as a child.
Send that reassurance.
Now let this image of your younger self slowly dissolve in your attentional spot.
Take a deep breath in,
Reconnecting with your body as it is now.
Fill yourself from the inside out.
Take your eyes,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your chest,
Belly,
Navel,
Legs,
Toes.
Take another moment to recall those wishes you sent to your younger self earlier and wish them to your present self,
The healer.
May you be happy.
May you be free of suffering.
May my dreams come true.
May I feel loved and worthy of love.
May I be able to love.
May I be healthy.
Take another deep breath and with this we come to the end of today's practice.
Give thanks for yourself for showing up today and turning inwards.
This is in itself an act of self-love.
You may open your eyes gently.
Take a slow deep breath in and know that now you're ready to continue with your day.
